The city had returned to an eerie calm, but Orion knew better.
The attack was a mere test, a warning of greater threats looming ahead. As dawn broke over the skyline, he stood atop the Orion Estate, his senses expanding beyond what he once thought possible. Suddenly, a high-pitched alarm blared from his communicator.
Kael's voice came through urgently. "Orion! We've got another situation—downtown." Orion didn't wait for details.
With a burst of celestial energy, he launched into the air, streaking toward the chaos. The scene below was a nightmare.
Buildings lay in ruins, smoke rising from shattered streets. In the center of the destruction stood a new enemy—a towering humanoid creature, its body composed of molten obsidian and pulsating veins of red energy.
Its glowing eyes locked onto Orion. "You are not the only one who wields the ancient power," it rumbled. Orion landed with a controlled burst, his feet cracking the pavement beneath him. "Then show me what you've got."
The creature didn't hesitate. It lunged, moving with unnatural speed for its massive size. Orion barely dodged, rolling to the side before countering with a wave of energy.
The attack struck the monster's chest, but it only absorbed the energy, growing stronger. Kael arrived with a group of armed allies, opening fire on the beast, but the bullets simply melted against its skin. "We need a new plan!" Kael shouted.
Orion clenched his fists. "Then I'll have to end this fast."
He summoned his celestial energy, focusing it into his hands.
With a mighty roar, he surged forward, unleashing a devastating flurry of attacks. The creature roared in agony as Orion struck weak point after weak point, his newfound power pushing him beyond his previous limits.
With one final surge, Orion drove his hands into the monster's core, pouring his energy into it.
The creature's body cracked and shattered, its molten form erupting into a blinding explosion of light. As the dust settled, Orion stood victorious.
But he knew this was only the beginning.
