Chapter 3: Summoning Beast: Taiichi!
"The assessment begins!"
Outside the barrier, Sarutobi Chogawa announced loudly.
Though he didn't understand why Uchiha Takashi was being treated so specially, he had no choice but to follow the orders from above.
Whoosh! Kakashi lunged forward.
He knew exactly what this order represented.
But to prevent the Hatake clan from being shamed again, he decided to carry out the order, no matter how unreasonable it seemed, determined not to repeat the mistakes of "that person."
Watching Kakashi charge straight at him, Uchiha Takashi cursed inwardly.
Damn it!
Facing someone who wouldn't listen to reason, he truly felt like crying.
Wasn't it said that the world of Hokage revolved around talking things out? Why didn't it work for him?
It seemed that talking things out only worked with the protagonist's halo. For someone like him, a mere side character, it was better not to think too much.
But Uchiha Takashi didn't have time to dwell on it.
Even if his opponent was Kakashi, the so-called "equal match," he wasn't going to just wait for death.
So, he retreated swiftly while forming hand seals.
Though his speed in forming seals couldn't match a certain Uchiha prodigy's one-handed, eight-seals-per-second prowess, he could still manage a few seals per second.
"Boar-Dog-Bird..."
He quickly formed several seals.
"Summoning Jutsu!"
With a soft shout, Uchiha Takashi slammed his right hand onto the ground.
Whether he could survive against Kakashi, who hadn't yet become the "equal match," depended entirely on this technique.
The summoning jutsu drained his chakra completely.
Fortunately, this technique didn't consume much, allowing the other party to bear most of the cost. Otherwise, with his chakra level, he wouldn't have been able to use it.
Even a formal Genin would be drained by a C-rank jutsu (average level).
That's why Genin on the battlefield usually relied on throwing shurikens and using kunai for combat, rarely using chakra to perform jutsu.
Not to mention whether they could, the consumption alone would drain them.
Bang! A puff of white smoke exploded.
Kakashi, who was charging in, instinctively halted and stepped back, murmuring to himself.
"Wasn't he supposed to be a dead last...?"
After receiving the order, he had gathered intelligence and found Uchiha Takashi to be a complete dead last. He hadn't expected him to hide so deeply.
The smoke quickly dispersed!
Between the two appeared a large crow, almost as tall as a person.
Its feathers were a mix of gold and black, with five golden plumes standing upright on its head like a crown, and it had an extra claw compared to a normal crow.
It looked somewhat peculiar!
But no one would mistake it for an ordinary crow.
"A ninja crow?"
Uchiha Fugaku, standing on the edge of the training ground, murmured to himself.
As the young clan leader of the Uchiha, he was here today just to make an appearance, but he hadn't expected to witness this scene.
However, he was well aware of one thing.
This ninja crow was definitely not bred by the Uchiha clan.
After all, the clan focused on breeding ninja cats, and ninja crows were only bred on a small scale within the clan, so it was impossible for there to be such a strong ninja crow.
After summoning his trump card, Uchiha Takashi did something unexpected.
He suddenly shouted towards the edge of the training ground, outside the barrier, at Sarutobi Chogawa: "I surrender!"
Yes, he surrendered directly.
Summoning the beast was to buy time for surrender, not to fight to the death.
Unfortunately.
Uchiha Takashi realized that his homeroom teacher was only looking at his actions with confusion, without any intention of intervening.
Although the teacher was slick, he wouldn't sit idly by while a student was in danger.
Thus, there was only one possibility.
The barrier! It not only prevented the battle's aftermath from spreading but also blocked sound, giving no chance to voice surrender.
Damn it! Uchiha Takashi was furious—Danzo, that old geezer, clearly wanted him dead!
But no matter how angry he was, it was useless; he first had to get past the immediate threat.
Because Kakashi was charging again, eyes filled with killing intent.
Hmph! If you want me dead, then I'll make sure you die first.
Uchiha Takashi's long-held fear and anxiety erupted completely.
He wanted to lay low because he knew how dangerous this ninja world was, but he didn't truly want to die. Now that someone had crossed his line, it was no wonder he exploded.
No matter the concerns or fears, they were insignificant in the face of imminent life-threatening danger.
"Taiichi, kill him!"
Uchiha Takashi ordered as he pulled back to create distance.
In terms of combat ability, he truly wasn't strong, so his reputation as a dead last wasn't unfounded.
Otherwise, did people really think those strong individuals couldn't see through a mere ninja school student's level?
Caw! Upon receiving the order, Taiichi, the ninja crow, had its eyes turn a golden red, locking onto the swiftly approaching Kakashi.
Swish, swish!
Several shurikens were hurled towards Uchiha Takashi first.
Whoosh! Taiichi spread his wings wide, creating a powerful gust that blew several shuriken away. Size equals strength!
This formula is a truth in the ninja world.
While a beast's size doesn't mean everything, a large size certainly provides a significant advantage.
Kakashi, who was charging forward, vanished in the whirlwind.
Taiichi suddenly raised his right claw, enveloped in intense flames, and stomped down heavily.
Bang! The ground shattered within a few meters of where his claw landed, with flames erupting like a fountain.
Seeing Taiichi's might, the other classmates were utterly shocked.
"So strong!"
"Am I under a genjutsu?"
"How can Uchiha Takashi have such a powerful summoning beast? If it were mine..."
Besides shock, they were filled with envy and jealousy, wishing such a powerful summoning beast belonged to them.
A powerful summoning beast can truly elevate a ninja to the peak of their life.
The 'Legendary Sannin' of Konoha are the best examples of this.
If even the others were so shocked, it was needless to say how stunned his two close friends were.
Honda and Yamakawa Koji exchanged glances, wondering if the friend they usually saw was an illusion, as he was known for either skipping class or slacking off.
Just as everyone was in shock.
Whoosh! A figure burst out from the shattered ground, charging at Taiichi.
It was Kakashi.
Clang! His short sword was blocked by Taiichi's sharp beak.
Beak strikes, claw attacks, wing sweeps! Taiichi forcefully blocked Kakashi's swift and fierce assault.
And not just that.
Whenever Kakashi tried to maneuver around, Taiichi, nearly as tall as a person, would go on the offensive, forcing him to defend himself.
Don't underestimate it as a ninja crow; with its wings, its short-distance lunges were no slower than Kakashi.
After a few rounds, Kakashi was left with no choice but to back off.
Realizing that taijutsu was ineffective against Taiichi, Kakashi leaped back, creating some distance, then formed hand seals while taking a deep breath.
"Fire Style: Flame Bullet!"
A fireball the size of a wheel was spat out.
Note that the Great Fireball Technique is an Uchiha secret, more powerful and less consuming than the Flame Bullet. There are many such fire-style secrets, which is why they claim to be the 'strongest fire-style clan.'
Caw! Facing the incoming Flame Bullet, Taiichi spread his wings and inhaled, causing the surrounding air to surge.
Seeing this scene.
The surrounding ninja spectators became anxious.
"This is!"
"Stop it quickly!"
"Too late!"
...
Judging by the momentum, the upcoming attack wasn't weak. While it posed no threat to them, it was extremely deadly for a ninja academy student who wasn't even a genin.
But due to the sealing barrier, it was too late to intervene.
Boom!
A violent wave of fire erupted from Taiichi, engulfing the area several meters ahead in an instant.
Boom! "Kakashi!!"
Hiruzen Sarutobi forcibly shattered the barrier, rushing into the training ground. He only relaxed after finding Kakashi merely passed out from the heat.
On the other side.
Having just unleashed a full-force attack, Taiichi dissipated as the summoning ended due to chakra depletion.
Whoosh! Meanwhile, Uchiha Takashi was surrounded.
"Uchiha Takashi, we suspect you of being a spy from another village. Come with us to the ANBU for investigation!"
The leading ANBU ninja commanded coldly.
Uchiha Takashi didn't argue upon hearing this because he had no grounds to.
In terms of identity, he was merely a ninja academy student, not even a genin.
In terms of strength, even at full power, he was barely a genin, and Taiichi could only threaten a chunin if the enemy was unaware of its abilities.
So, in terms of identity or strength, he had no room to argue.
As for reasoning?
Sorry, being a ninja isn't about reasoning.
However, he didn't regret it.
Kakashi had attacked with the intent to kill.
Only those prepared to be killed have the right to kill!
The other party surely understood this principle.
Surviving Taiichi's attack was purely due to his ability, not because he held back.
If you're trying to kill me, holding back would be utterly foolish.
Yet, Uchiha Takashi didn't hate Kakashi.
Because the one truly after his life wasn't him, but that old guy Danzo.
He never expected that after hiding for so long, he still couldn't escape.
Just as Uchiha Takashi was contemplating taking a risky move.
