Chapter 23:The First Step

Chapter 23:

The First Step into a million years of eternity.

The success or failure of a journey is determined by the first step—whether in the right direction or the wrong one.

Errin stood at the precipice of endless possibilities, a thousand paths stretching before him like veins of fate. He had lived long enough to know that a single step could change everything.

He had once stepped into war, believing he was bringing peace.

He had once stepped toward love, only to realize he was chasing a mirage.

He had once stepped into a temple, seeking enlightenment, only to find emptiness.

Every choice had shaped him. Every misstep had written another chapter in his story.

So now, as he stood at the crossroads of existence, he hesitated—not out of fear, but out of awareness.

He could not afford another blind step.

"But what is the right direction?"

The memories whispered a thousand conflicting answers. The scholar would tell him to seek knowledge. The warrior would urge him to wield strength. The wanderer would laugh and say that no step mattered at all.

Errin closed his eyes.

He silenced the voices.

The answer was not in the past.

It was within him.

He inhaled. The wind shifted. The world held its breath.

And then—

He stepped forward.

He did not know if it was the right step. But it was his step.

And that was enough.
