Chapter 32:
That Voice Again
A whisper drifted through the void, soft yet undeniable, like the first ripple on a still pond.
"You are beginning to understand."
Errin's breath caught. That voice again. It had come to him before—just at the edge of perception, neither male nor female, neither young nor old. A voice that seemed to belong not to a person, but to existence itself.
"Who are you?" His words were steady, yet his pulse quickened.
Silence. Then, a quiet chuckle, warm yet distant.
"I am the echo of every choice you have made… and every choice you have yet to make."
The weight of the words settled over him, not as a burden, but as a revelation. This voice—it was not a stranger.
It was him.
Not the Errin of yesterday, nor the Errin of today, but something beyond—an amalgamation of every possibility, every step taken and untaken, every thread of fate that had woven itself into his existence.
"You were never meant to simply follow."
The words sent a shiver through him.
"You were meant to create."
Errin swallowed, his mind racing. The changes in his body, the shift in his understanding, the subtle rewriting of his own being—was this all leading him somewhere? Was he on the verge of something greater, something that had always been waiting for him to grasp it?
The voice grew softer, almost fading into the abyss.
"You are close now. But remember… creation is not without consequence."
And then—silence.
Errin stood alone, the vast emptiness stretching before him.
Yet, for the first time, he did not feel lost.
Because he was the one shaping the path ahead.
