"I really should sleep early tonight…"
That's what he said for the fourth night in a row. He didn't even remember which anime he was binging anymore — something about overpowered main characters and epic sword fights. One more episode turned into five, then ten.
His stomach rumbled, his head throbbed, but his hand still reached for the next episode. He hadn't left his bed in two days. The empty ramen cups on his desk were his only company.
"This is the life…"
His vision blurred. His head slumped forward. He didn't even notice when his body stopped breathing.
"Oi, wake up, you lazy bum!"
A loud voice jolted him awake. He wasn't in his room anymore.
He blinked at the radiant figure in front of him — a goddess, floating with an amused grin. Her hair shimmered like the night sky, her eyes sparkling like twin moons.
"Where… am I?" he muttered groggily.
"Dead. Heart attack. Congrats," the goddess said, barely holding back a laugh.
"Ah." He paused. "So… no next episode?"
She raised an eyebrow. "Seriously? You're dead, and that's your first question?"
"Yeah… kinda."
The goddess sighed, but her grin widened. "You're an interesting one. Normally, people beg for a second chance. But you? You're more concerned about your anime cliffhanger than your own life. I like that."
He blinked. "Wait, second chance? Are you one of those isekai goddesses?"
"Ding ding! We have a winner. I'm feeling generous today, so I'll reincarnate you into a fantasy world. Monsters, magic, swords, all that stuff."
His eyes finally sparked with life. "For real? Like a protagonist with OP powers and a harem?"
The goddess giggled. "Sure. But since you clearly hate doing anything productive, I've got a perfect skill for you."
A glowing screen appeared before him.

"The less you do, the stronger you become."
He stared. "Wait, what?"
"Basically, the lazier you are, the stronger you'll get," the goddess explained cheerfully. "Do nothing, get stronger. Pretty fitting, huh?"
His brain stalled. "That sounds broken."
"Yup! But here's the catch — your strength only grows while you avoid direct action. No fighting, no training, no hard work."
"So… I can just sleep and become a hero?"
"Exactly."
He thought for a moment. "That's the best power ever."
The goddess burst out laughing. "I knew you'd love it." She flicked her wrist, and a swirling portal opened beneath him.
"Alright, lazybones — off you go. Let's see what you do with this ridiculous skill!"
Before he could respond, the floor vanished beneath him.
He woke up face-first in a patch of dirt. The sun blazed overhead, and birds chirped way too loudly for his liking.
His clothes were rough and scratchy — a peasant's tunic and pants. His body felt lighter, healthier, like he wasn't the junk-food gremlin from before.
He pushed himself up, groaning. "Ugh… I thought reincarnations were supposed to start with a sword or something cool. Not dirt."
A blue screen flickered in front of him.
[Skill Activated: Rewarded for Inaction]
Strength +1
Defense +1
Stamina +1
He stared at the screen. "Wait… I got stronger just from laying here?"
He flopped back down immediately.
[Strength +1]
[Defense +1]
[Stamina +1]
His grin stretched ear to ear.
"Best. Power. Ever."
