The dream

Serena stepped out of the bathroom room filling refreshed and ready to go to bed. "Aunt Missy are you awake" Serena said touching Missy slightly who pretended to be fast asleep . After changing into her fuzzy warm night dress she decided to head the down stairs to have something to eat . As she walked down the stairs heading to the little kitchen at the far end of the cottage ,just before the kitchen was a room with the door left slightly open, Mrs Smith was in there with a hooded man, she looked tense and scared as she whispered to the hooded stranger . Serena curious of what the were whispering about walked silently to the door taking a peek into the room . " I tell you I believe she is the one and so does the general " Mrs Smith paused placing her hand on her forehead "she is the child Martha was sent to kill but she didn't instead she protected her knowing the leaders would not take likely to her betrayal, truly they might sentence her to death for this treason " Mrs Smith said with a sigh, my plump cheeks as red as cherries. " She knew what her punishment would be if she betrayed her kind " the hooded man said sternly, something about his voice made Serena very uncomfortable, like the voice of a person who held deep hatred for her, she didn't understand why she felt this way . " Yes but that's what worries me, Martha could have killed the child and been praised for breaking the curse but she chose to protect the child , not only that but she warned that there are dire consequences for anyone who tries to hurt her" Mrs Smith said hastily following behind the man who walked around in circles pondering over her words. Serena leaned in further to hear them better, she felt connected to what the were whispering about . " Maybe she can't be killed" the man said quietly tapping his finger on his chin. " Oh dear me she must have the mark then,that is what it means, we must report to the leaders immediately " Mrs Smith suddenly turned around meeting Serena's eyes head on which made her flinch. " I'm so sorry I didn't mean to intrude l, I wanted something to eat that's all" Serena said waving her hands slightly like a little thief caught stealing a cookie from the jar . The hooded man pulled his hoody farther down to hide his face completely . Mrs Smith smiled without saying a word she walked to the door shutting it leaving Serena standing there like a cold dejected puppy . " That's what you get from being nosey" Serena hissed , she didn't feel hungry any more infact she felt rather irritated all of a sudden, she quickly returned to there room with Missy actually being asleep now. She sat at the edge of the bed, her mind could not get off Mrs Smith last statement " she has the mark what does that even mean, poor girl is going to be killed because of a stupid mark what a weird town this is" Serena said with a frown, she hoped that what was said tonight didn't become a reality. Tired and confused Serena closed her eyes collapsing into the bed. When she opened them she was neither on the bed nor in the room, she was in the middle of a cold dark forest with massive tall trees which blocked the moons light . She felt the cold breeze blow against her bare skin and she realized that she was not wearing her fuzzy long sleeve night dress anymore but her red sleeveless flare dress, even her hair was all done and she had on a pair of shoes she did not own . " Where am I " Serena whispered looking lost, the forest was so large that there didn't seem to be a way out. " Did you really think you could run away from me" a voice echoed , she quickly turned to meet a faceless man standing a few meters away from her , behind him were two other faceless creatures who laughed loudly as they approached her. " I was going to go easy on you but after what you made him do to me, you would beg to die sweetheart" the faceless man said as he approached her. For some reason her body didn't feel like her own, she tried moving away from them, she tried screaming for help instead her hands flew up pleading with them "I do not know him please, just let me go" she begged tears rolling down her cheeks, she felt terribly scared, her bones felt like jelly and her joints hurt she felt like she had ran a marathon. "Xavier never does something for a nobody I assure you that, do you even know what you are hmm sweetheart " the man said barely a meter away ." Come Serena do something, run please" she said within herself for she could not even move her own lips" . She felt a sharp pain in her brain which made her hurdle," arghh" she screamed loudly, she felt like her brain was being pulled out of her head, a thousand different voices floating through her thoughts, the faceless man grabbed her by the shoulder tackling her to the ground, her mind still overwhelmed by the voices ,she closed her eyes tightly praying for the nightmare to be over . Then everything went quiet even the men were gone like they were never there. The forest was gone as well, she found herself in a land totally covered with clear ice. She did not have on her dress any longer and was back in her night dress . Her fingers trembled due to the cold and fear . After a while she had someone singing and without her doing her body moved in the direction of the voice. She saw a little girl in tattered clothes sitting by the edge of a cliff, her entire skin covered in bruises. Serena approached the girl quietly not wanting to frighten her. " Hey what is wrong ?" she asked now standing behind the girl . The girl didn't say a word and kept crying, her face buried in her palms. " What is the matter I'm sure there is something I can do to make you feel better" Serena said placing her hand on the little girl's shoulder. The girl suddenly turned grabbing hold of her wrist tightly, her nails digging into her skin . She screamed in pain trying to get free of the girl who held on even stronger her hair covering her face. The girl using her other hand placed it on Serena face , her hands cold and harsh on her skin. " You would rewrite her tale, you are the one who was promised not her, " the girl said in a hoarse voice . " Please I don't know what your talking about just let me go please" Serena cried, blood dripping from the wounds made from the girl's nails . "You need to see , open your eyes and see" the girl said raising her head to meet Serena's eyes but, she had no eyes, just a hollow space filled with darkness. Serena screamed loudly kicking the girl forcefully away from her which made her fall hard on the icy ground . She looked over at the girl seeing her twisted figure slowly rising from the ground running towards her. She screamed louder than she had ever done as the girl ran towards her. When there was only a few meters between them, the ice broke and Serena fell through the ice .
