GETTING DARK 2
"now what?" Ellie asked, we had just finished sealing off all the exits to the motel we were spending the night.
"Now you get up and be useful..., I and the gym teacher...."Jake said but was caught off by Jim right before completing his statement
"Jim.....Jim, I'm no longer your teacher, Jim is fine" Jim persuaded
"Ok then, I and JIM, got the exits all shut, now we decide of we'll need to take turns in keeping watch while the others sleep" Jake said
"Keeping watch, but you said it yourself,... The exits are shut" Ellie said reminding Jake of his own words
"Yes all exits ate shut but that wouldn't stop an accident would it?....., look we have to make sure we're safe at all times"Jake huffed taking a few steps towards the chair close to the front entrance of the motel
"I'll take the first watch, you guys get some rest..." He added sitting on the chair while placing his dagger on the floor close to the reach of his palm.
"That thing ' still out there" Jake thought flash backing to his encounter with the infected that infected him
"As long as it's still out there, no one, absolutely no one is safe" Jake muttered, the infected that had infected him was no ordinary z, it was smart, it knew how to fight, knew what to do and when to do it, it moved more like a human rather than a mindless beast, this gave Jake a theory that the infected he had fought might not actually be an undead but someone like him, someone partially infected, if it was possible for him then it was possible for them
BACK AT THE SCHOOL.....
"He got away..." A voice said from the school infirmary,
"Guess, I'll get him next time"it said again putting on the dress it took from one of the students locker. As soon as it was done it headed out of the schools infirmary into the hallways filled with zs,
"I'll kill you Jake, I will kill you" he laughed making his way for the door
With the silence of the night Jake sat on the chair glancing outside through the window at the motel, he could see zombies walking around "they were human once" he said still not believing this was now a reality of his but it wasn't that hard for him to adjust
"Cold ain't it?"jake askedhearing footsteps approach from behind, he already knew who it was just by hearing the footsteps
"Not quite"Ellie replied taking a sit beside Jake as he stared at her
"Not speaking bout the weather,you know that right?"Jake asked, making Ellie wonder what exactly he meant was cold
"I just don't follow"Ellie said accepting she didn't really know what Jake was talking about
"That world out there, ain't it cold?.....,who would have thought this would be our future yesterday?"Jake asked again, Ellie didn't really know what Jake was leading to so she just continued stareing at him her gaze filled with curiosity
"How do you think you're gonna survive in a world like that Ellie?....., I've watched and observed that in times of action you do nothing but stand waiting for your problems to get solved by either anyone close to you or it just stays that way"Jake said
While Jake spoke Ellie said nothing but watch, she wasn't really expecting him to say that to her but at the same time she wondered if he was right about what he had just said which flashed her back to the time the virus got to the classroom the students had his in for sanctuary, when the infected got in, if Lisa hadn't saved her she would be dead, and back at the other room in the school if Jake hadn't saved her she'd also be dead, how could she not have done anything Ellie asked herself her heart racing as she car in truth to her reality
"I'm not just saying this to judge you Ellie,I'm pointing out your mistakes so you can get better, if you don't this little colony of three might fall"Jake said standing
"I guess it's your turn to keep watching"he said again heading for the empty room which Ellie had just walked out of
