The beginning of School

Elio left his house with a bag containing all the belongings he needed.

He looked at his house one last time with slight nostalgia.

"I will succed this time," he said before setting off.

He had spent his weekend first working on his cardio, then his focus through meditation. Concentration allowed for greater control over his power, and Elio knew it.

He retraced his route to school. Upon arrival, many other students were gathered in front of the gate. They weren't that numerous — this year's class probably counted around 50 teenagers.

It was 7:57 AM, and the gate would open at 8. He recognized a few familiar faces. Louis and Clara were chatting while Azel and Darian stood next to each other without exchanging a word.

Groups had already formed, based on status.

At 8 o'clock, the gate opened, and everyone gathered in the large courtyard. On a platform, Professor Clarck could be seen waiting. He wasn't the one giving the welcome speech — after all, he was only the vice principal.

A tall figure stepped onto the platform. It was Clément Dumas, the director of Ascendia and also one of the pillars of the kingdom. He was one of those at the top of Asturias society.

Elio watched him carefully. He had an impressive presence.

"Hello everyone, sorry for the delay. As you know, the position of president is no easy task, hahaha," he said with humor. Clarck, standing behind him, didn't seem to share the sentiment...

"As you all know, the battles with Saba are only intensifying. This is why we have made boarding mandatory for everyone. We believe this will allow us to train you more effectively for the world of war by forcing you to live together every day — just as you will later on. Given the circumstances, it's not impossible that you may be mobilized before the end of your schooling at this institution..." he said. This announcement reflected the tense situation in Asturias. Clarck, seated behind him, looked exasperated by the director's words.

"He shouldn't have said that during the entrance ceremony..." Elio understood.

"Anyway, we will split you into two different classes: one with our dear vice principal, Mr. Clarck," said Clément as Clarck stood up with a smile to introduce himself.

"He acts nice like this, but the mask will fall soon enough," Arthur said, laughing.

"The second class will have Mr. Frank as a teacher, joining us for the first time this year," added the headmaster.

Elio smirked when he heard the name of this teacher.

He was a medium-height man with brown hair and a goatee. He sat next to Professor Clarck.

"Now, I will announce who will be in which class. To start, in Class 1, we will have Darian Light."

This sentence shook all the students, first because Darian's name was well-known throughout the kingdom. He was widely known as the chosen one. Indeed, a prophecy had foretold the arrival of a young man with an unprecedented, overpowering ability who would end the war against Saba and make Asturias the most powerful kingdom of all time. Less reliable rumors said he would be a handsome blond. And Darian checked all the boxes. Moreover, his last name was Light, just like the headmaster...

He stepped forward, head held high, to stand in the area reserved for Class 1. Everyone watched him closely. Indeed, he was platinum blond, quite tall. His gaze was cold. He was, without a doubt, the strongest student in the school.

Then, each student was called one by one. In Class 1 were Elio, Arthur, and Clara. Azel and Louis were placed in Class 2.

Without delay, each of the two groups headed to their respective classrooms. The first group had the room 322 as their main room, it was the same as the one for pre-school. Clarck sat down calmly and said:

"Hello everyone, my name is Clarck. I'll spare you the long, useless introductions and get straight to the point by giving you your individual power test results."

Suddenly, on the board, the various results of each student appeared. They were ranked from S to D- and listed in order. At the top was Darian Light, the only one with an S-rank power. No one else had ever been diagnosed with such potential. There were rumors about the founders of the kingdom, about legends from ancient times, but nothing truly verifiable.

But what about the others? What are their rankings?
