Chapter 6

[ASIA]

"You know, I don't hate my family. I just hate that they're so hard to please. And everyone looks at me like I'm a weakling, like the walls don't break when I punch them, or the blood that flows through is not Noctari blood." Asia was saying to her friend, Ina. They were at this bar in town called Bundles of Poison, where Asia snuck most of the time with Ina, to have some rated 18 drinks and to cool of with a good fuck.

"You're a Vrykolak. Not just any Noctari. Honestly... I wouldn't expect anything less." Ina said as she downed another glass. She was Noctari, too. She had no powers or super abilities like the Vyrkolak family had, but she was a very capable Noctari. At 21, the same age as Asia, she was admired for her skills, as against Asia. Which irritated her sometimes. Considering she was more powerful than Ina.

"Great. Another opp supporter." Asia spat, rolling her eyes.

"I'm not supporting anyone, darling. You know that I'm right. Tell me, have you ever killed a wolfkin or captured a witch?"

"Well, no one ever takes me on missions."

"Not after you bumped the last one you went to." Ina said with wide eyes.

"How do you..."

"Every one Noctari that attended our training school knows it, Asia. Erin made sure of it."

"Fuck him." Asia fumed.

"Your problem is that you're always waiting for permission. A go ahead. A fucking nod."

"We follow the rules, don't we?"

"If rules were made to be followed all the time, darling, I wouldn't be called Hunter today. I wouldn't have killed an entire wolf pack on my own. In fact, your father wouldn't have brought the head of Galen Lunari to the Umbra Vigilum all those years ago."

Asia's eyes widened for a short moment. She knew the story. How her father, his brother Jager, along with Nika, his wife, and Marcus, his first and young son had eliminated every single member of the 'Great Lunari' Pack. It was not just a pack. It was a clan. A clan of Primordials. Galen Lunari was the Alpha King of not just the pack but the entire realm of Wolfkin all over. He was called First Wolf because he was as powerful as the First Werewolf and said to be blessed by the Moon goddess herself.

It was a tragedy that happened to them, but a tremendous victory for their killers- the Noctari.

"No single Noctari, to this day could ever take down one primordial, talk less of an entire pack." Ina said. "I wonder why your father is not the head of the Umbra Vigilum. He is the most powerful hunter out there."

But Asia knew why. The Umbra Vigilum will never give power to one who was already powerful enough. In addition to that, the primary defence was that he had gone off on his mission without the approval of his family head, as well as the Umbra Vigilum assembly at the time.

"Power isn't everything. Maybe that's exactly why the Umbra Vigilum won't vote him." Asia said.

"If power isn't everything, darling, why are you trying so hard to be strong?"

So that she could be powerful. That was the answer in Asia's head. So that she could show her family that she was as strong and powerful as they were as well.

"Whatever, bossy know-it-all bitch." Asia said, making a face as they both burst into laughter.

"I heard your cousin is coming into town." Ina said. Asia looked surprised.

"That so? From who? Which of my cousins?"

"Yeah, Erin told me. It's Hawk Vrykolak."

Hawk Vrykolak was Jager's son. She hated him. But of course, Erin loved him, and their combination was hell on earth.

"Why are you and Erin talking anyway?"

"Well,....uhm..."

Just then, Ina's phone rang out, and when she picked it up, Asia knew from the phone call that she had to go.

"I didn't even get to fuck the bar guy." Ina groaned and squeezed Asia's cheeks before kissing her on them.

"I've got to go. Klaus is calling. Duty calls." Klaus was Ina's Noctari sect leader. Asia had seen him a few times, but there was never a time to become friendly. Plus, his disdain for the Vrykolak family was not secret. So he never awarded her much attention since as far back as a teenager studying at the Academy.

"May the moon guide you, sister." Asia said, nodding.

"You too-And hey, if you're interested in what we talked about. You know, breaking some rules? You know where to find me, darling." Ina winked dubiously before turning to leave.

Asia turned to the bar guy who now poured her another drink. She studied him. He looked so good.

Maybe she would fuck him.

But then, she didn't even know how to do that.
