"Regis find an escape pod and lead me there. Don't worry once we get out of here I'll build a nice body for you and this time you can tell what changes you want and how you want to be." Felix said trying to clear his eyes and squint around to observe where he was and the damages done. Thinking of the repairs needed for the laboratory to be used again and the delay it would cause to the research.
'No …cape pods dete… Master… I don… where we ar… not Veylith…your body d…mething wrong…questing permiss…sfer …infor…ion.' Regis could form mostly understandable sentences before but now almost after every word there were static noise. Felix tried to decipher as much as he could from those few words now. If he was not wrong it meant no escape pods were nearby, the place he was at is not Veylith something is wrong with his body and the last few words were difficult to even understand. Regis was requesting permission for something. Since Felix could not see clearly even after clearing his eyes he gave up trying to scrunch them and see. He used his mental powers and tried to ignore the pain. He could feel that his mental strength was damaged and if he used them his mental power would drop levels depending on damage but currently saving his life was more important than saving his power level.
As he used his power to survey the surroundings he found that he was alone in an empty cave. Using walls as a support he stood up ignoring the banging pain he had every time he tried to move even a little. Feeling a urge to vomit he dragged himself to the entrance of the cave which was atmost 15 steps away. By the time he reached the small entrance it felt like years have passed. He wanted to vomit right there but thinking he would need to still live in the cave till he was rescued he didn't want to smell the vomit the entire time he stayed so he forcefully tried to walk few more steps forward.
'Reque…rmission…transf…information' he heard when he was walking. This time he understood what Regis was trying to stay. In case of any accident/emergency he had told Regis to back up all the important data and send them to his family.
Something was wrong—very wrong—and his instincts screamed in warning. But the pain he was feeling overpowered that instincts. He could feel it but his brain was not working enough to comprehend what was wrong and he was using all his willpower just to walk a suitable distance away from the cave to vomit.
'I'll ask Regis to transfer data to them after I finish vomiting. Mom and dad should have received notification of the lab...' Suddenly Felix paused absolutely still using his power to look around. He tried to using it to sweep his surrounding but there were few twigs, stones, soil, trees. He couldn't see them clearly due to pains but he could guess what they were based on their shapes. Taking a deep breath he called out "Regis"
'…ster Feli…mission…transfer…informa…regard…body' The moment he heard Regis voice he tried using his mental powers to locate where it was coming from. He just found what was wrong. Regis voice was not coming from around him but from his head. No it came from his Sea of consciousness. He took back his power and investigated it and found a figure similar to Regis and a ball of white in his Sea of consciousness using threads made using mental powers he poked the small ball.
Before he could question his sanity he vomited and at the same time it seemed as if he could sense another memory. One that didn't belong to him or anyone he knew but still it felt familiar to him.
The Different Memory
His mother died giving birth to him. His father was powerful tiger beastman and had many children so he didn't care that much about him. He didn't have a mother like the rest of his siblings so he stayed with his father. By the age of 3 he started to follow the fruit picking team and had secured a way to eat food even though the rest of the fruit pickers didn't want him there and always left him behind. There was actually no need for him to follow the food picking team before the age 6-7 especially since he had a father to care for him. But he could feel his father's disgust and anger of him as he started to grow up. He never knew what he did wrong but other people of the tribe also subtly rejected him. One day he overheard someone say it was because he was a unlucky child. The night before he was born the priest of the tribe had a prediction that their tribe was going to face a disaster.
The moment he was born there was a thunderstorm which lasted for several hours. His mother had died during the child birth and there was fire which had almost destroyed their food storage cave. He was born with black hair and didn't cry even during the thunderstorm. But as the thunderstorm had ended his hair had turned pure white. When he was young and played with other children they often had accidents or were hurt. So the parents forbid them from playing with him. His father often had accidents due to which he couldn't hunt and had less food due to no contribution. Later whenever he passed by someone they almost always had bad luck so even the adults stayed away from him. When he was 5 years old his father sent him to live in the community caves. The community cave was a place where the old people and the orphan children lived. They were a part of the tribe so every time the tribe hunted the biggest and the most delicious part was given to the best contributor next the priest and the remaining scrapes and meat pieces were given to the rest of the members. He had the smallest and the worst smelling meat and the remaining harvest of the fruit picking team.
But he was still thankful to the tribe for not starving him. That was until he was thrown out of the tribe. He didn't understand why he was thrown out or what he had done wrong. He tried asking them what was wrong but his very father had strangled him and warned him if he ever came close to the tribe again he would kill him. He could tell his father was very serious the next time he was seen near the tribe or tribe member they would kill him so he ran. He wiped his tears and ran not knowing where to go. Not knowing how a 9-year-old who hadn't awakened his beast shape was going to survive in this dangerous world where even the most powerful men couldn't survive alone.
After running he had found a cave where Felix had woken up. It was probably safe because the entrance was so narrow even the boy had difficulty entering and exiting. The boy had somehow survived for 7 months and today was the day the boy had died and in his body Felix's soul had entered.
