I stood frozen, unable to move as my mother opened my bedroom door without knocking. Her eyes widened with anger and disappointment. I knew I was in big trouble.
In front of my mother, Floryn was still folded in my embrace, our lips still touching. I knew this was a huge mistake. Floryn was the teenager my mother despised, and now, my mother knew that Floryn and I had a relationship.
"What are you doing, Andra?" my mother exclaimed, her voice trembling with anger. "What are you doing to that kid?"
I couldn't answer. I could only remain silent, waiting for my mother to explode in rage. Floryn, sensing the tension, slowly released herself from my embrace and looked at my mother with fearful eyes.
"Mom, please," Floryn tried to speak, but my mother didn't give her a chance.
"Get out of here!" my mother commanded loudly. "Get out of my house!"
Floryn, with teary eyes, ran out of my room, leaving me alone with my still-angry mother.
I knew I had to face the consequences of my actions. However, I couldn't regret what had happened. I loved Floryn, and I would do anything to protect her.
"Mom, it's my fault, don't blame her!" I said firmly to my mother.
"How can you expect me not to blame her? She's getting married tomorrow, Andra! And you want to cause trouble with her family? Why are you so foolish?" my mother shouted.
"Mom, please. Let me explain to you,"
"No! I don't want to hear your explanation! I've told you, don't get close to her! She's a troubled teenager! Look, she's not even old enough to get married! She should still be in school!" my mother yelled angrily.
"Mom. Calm down. She has never caused any trouble with me so far," I tried to calm her down, but she ignored me.
"Stop defending her! Just because she loves you, doesn't mean you have to love her back!" my mother shouted, pointing her finger at me.
There was some truth in what she said to me. I realized it. As I said before, I did become foolish when I loved someone.
Suddenly, my mother became even more furious than before. She left my room and headed to the kitchen. After a few minutes, I went home to Aunt Julia's house without saying goodbye to her.
As soon as I entered Aunt Julia's house, she greeted me warmly.
"Hello, Andra," she greeted with a smile.
"Hi, Aunt Julia," I greeted back with a smile, walking past her and heading straight to my room.
I wanted to be alone for a few hours. There were too many problems for today.
A while later, I heard someone knocking on my door. At first, I ignored it, until a few more knocks were heard. Then, I sighed in annoyance and opened the door, seeing Vigo standing outside.
"Want to play?" Vigo asked me.
Now he was my only comfort, and he came at the right time. But for now, I invited him to play games on my phone. Vigo was very happy when he saw there were many new games on my phone.
"You've been rarely at home these past few days, why?" Vigo asked while playing a game.
"Yeah, sorry, I've been busy lately. College, group assignments, and other things," I answered.
"It seems like since you met Luna, you've rarely spent time with me,"
I chuckled hearing his complaint. Then I ruffled his hair and said,
"No, you will always be my best brother, Vigo,"
I sat on my bed leaning against a pillow, then looked at my phone which suddenly vibrated while Vigo was still engrossed in playing games. My mother's name appeared on the screen, and I knew I had to answer it. I took a deep breath and pressed the answer button.
"Mom?" I answered, my voice still sounding hesitant.
"Andra? I'm sorry," my mother started the conversation in a soft and regretful tone. "I shouldn't have yelled at you like that. I just..., I was just worried about you,"
I felt a little relieved hearing my mother's words. I knew my mother was worried about me, but I also knew she had to understand that I was an adult and could make my own decisions.
"Yes, Mom, I understand you're worried," I explained.
"But, I also want you to understand that I had a relationship with Floryn. Actually, at that time, I couldn't leave her just because you didn't like her. But, I just wanted to obey you,"
My mother was silent for a moment, and I could imagine her expression, maybe she was thinking.
"I understand, Andra," my mother finally spoke. "I understand that you love Floryn. I just want you to be happy, Son. But I also have reasons for that. I just want you to be okay, Son,"
I felt a little touched by my mother's words. I knew that my mother really wanted me to be happy, and I hoped she could understand.
"Thank you, Mom," I said.
Then we ended the call and I went back to playing with Vigo.
"Is everything okay, Bro?" Vigo asked.
"Yes, I hope so," I said briefly.

This morning, during class, I didn't hear any news from Luna at all. I called my mother several times, asking about Luna. My mother told me that Luna didn't visit the house this morning. Even Riana didn't give any news.
I also called Riana several times but she didn't answer, maybe she was busy managing her restaurant. I became increasingly worried about her. After class ended, I planned to visit Luna's house. But unfortunately, the gate was tightly locked.
"Come on Riana, answer the phone," I grumbled while trying to call her several times.
After that, I tried to visit her restaurant. And when I arrived there, it turned out Riana wasn't there either, only her employees.
"Excuse me, can I meet Riana?" I asked one of the restaurant employees there.
"Mrs. Riana is at the hospital, she just left, Sir," she answered.
"Hospital? Who's sick?"
"Her child, Sir,"
My heart raced and my blood pressure rose, followed by a sudden wave of fear. Without thinking twice, I immediately went to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital gate, I hurried into the building and headed straight to the emergency unit.
At the same time, my phone rang. Thankfully, Riana finally called me.
"Riana?"
"Andra, where are you now?" Riana's voice sounded panicked.
"I'm at the hospital, what's wrong with Luna?"
"Come to Jasmine Room 4 immediately,"
"Okay, I'm on my way," I said and hurriedly looked for the room Riana mentioned.
The hallway seemed endless and I wasn't sure if my choice was right. Finally, I arrived at Jasmine Room 4. I saw Riana standing in front of the room waiting for me.
As I entered the room, I saw Luna lying on the bed, unconscious with an oxygen tube attached to her mouth. I walked slowly towards her bed.
"What's wrong with her?" I asked Riana with a trembling voice.
"I found her lying on the bed still wearing a wet towel. It seems like she had just taken a shower, but she usually doesn't shower at night. And this morning when I tried to wake her up, her fever was very high, so high that she had a seizure. Then I immediately brought her to the hospital," Riana explained without a pause.
And once again, I blamed myself for what happened today.
