First Vein

Chapter 6: First Vein

The morning air in Elysium City felt sharper than usual.

Kael stood shirtless in the private courtyard of the Nightshade Estate, the cold breeze brushing against his skin. His senses had become unnaturally keen—he could hear the dew sliding down leaves, the flap of a distant drone's wings, even the subtle humming of leyline energy beneath the marble tiles.

His gaze lowered to his palm. Power slumbered there. It wasn't just aura. It was something older, more instinctive—force, shaped by the body, not the soul.

> "Before the soul, there was the body. Before Aura, there was Jin."

The words came from a hazy dream he had the night before—no, not a dream. A memory. A fragment from a life he had never lived.

Or had he?

"Martial Veins…" he muttered.

From the depths of his body, Kael could feel something faint—a dormant thread coiled near his shoulder, as if waiting to be unraveled.

He took his stance.

Feet shoulder-width apart. Knees loose. Spine straight. Arms slowly rising. He recalled the ancient breathing pattern that had appeared in his mind during the transformation—Iron Wind Breathing Technique, the first method of sensing and opening the Bright Pulse (明脉).

One breath in. Hold. Exhale.

Again.

Each cycle was like hammering his own muscles, reshaping the flow within. The faint pulse near his collarbone began to stir.

> thump…

His heartbeat synchronized with his movements.

> thump… thump…

Then came the moment.

> Crack!

A bolt of pain shot down his left arm. Kael gritted his teeth, refusing to cry out. The sensation was not from injury—but breakthrough.

A radiant line of light flared beneath his skin—just for a second—before vanishing. His body felt like steel drenched in fire.

> {Martial Vein Unlocked: Bright Pulse (明脉)}

Force Type: Balanced | Control Level: Novice

Qi Flow Efficiency: +17%

Physical Resilience: +22%

Kael exhaled slowly, his shoulders trembling. A smirk touched his lips.

He hadn't just stepped into the world of Aura—he had taken his first step onto the path of martial force.

> This... this is power earned, not given.

As the sun climbed higher, the doors to the estate opened behind him.

A butler approached, bowing deeply.

"Young Master Kael. There's been a request from the Umbra Division. They want to speak with you… regarding an incident last night at the East Sector Arena."

Kael didn't turn around.

He simply clenched his fists, feeling the power surge within.

"Tell them I'll come," he said. "But this time… I won't be walking in as the same Kael they remember."
