Chapter 3

~Eira POV~

I quickly made my way back to the party with the cake and presented it to Emma. The crowd erupted in applause as Emma blew out the candles and made a wish. After the cake cutting, the party continued with merry, magic, and food.

As I was serving local wine in a wood cups, to the guests, I noticed Alpha Mondragon and Luna Isabella making their way towards me. My heart started racing as I remembered Rachel's warning about them. Alpha Mondragon smiled at me and said, "You're doing a great job, young lady." Luna Isabella added, "Yes, you're a very pretty girl. Have you ever considered working for us?"

I felt a lump in my throat as I stammered, "T-thank you, but sorry, I'm already working for Princess Emma." Luna Isabella looked at me with a sly grin and said, "Well, if you ever change your mind, just let us know."

I quickly made my escape and went to the kitchen to catch my breath. I couldn't believe that Alpha Mondragon and Luna Isabella were trying to buy me as their slave. I needed to stay away from them, as Rachel had warned.

As I was calming down in the kitchen, I heard Arthur's voice behind me. "Hey, Eira. Can I help you with something?" I turned around to see him smiling at me. My heart skipped a beat as I realized how handsome he was.

"N-no, I'm fine. Just taking a break," I replied, trying to hide my nerves.

Arthur chuckled. "You look nervous. Is everything okay?"

I hesitated for a moment, then decided to confide in him. "Someone warned me to stay away from Alpha Mondragon and Luna Isabella. She thinks they might want to buy me as their slave."

Arthur's expression darkened. "The person is right to be concerned. Alpha Mondragon is not to be trusted. He's a ruthless businessman who will stop at nothing to get what he wants."

I nodded, feeling grateful for the warning. "Thank you for telling me. I'll be sure to stay away from him."

Arthur smiled at me. "You're welcome. And hey, if you ever need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

I blushed at his kindness and smiled back. "Thanks, Arthur. That means a lot." Arthur left the kitchen.

After five minutes, I started hearing someone calling my name, and I turned to see Ashley. She said she had been looking for me and wanted to say her goodbye because they were leaving already. I smiled and said thank you to her, then we started hearing a commotion outside. Both of us left the kitchen and ran to look. Luna Emilia was confronting Arthur and asking why he showed up because he had no right to. "This party is not the gathering for mistress's family!" Luna Emilia yell.

I felt bad for Arthur, and Ashley turned to me and said, "That's Alpha Ethan's son with his mistress." I was surprised by the story. "When Luna Emilia couldn't conceive after their wedding, Alpha Ethan started dating one of their maids, and she got pregnant. Though Luna Emilia sent her away after she gave birth to Arthur, and Alpha Ethan love Arthur so much."

In my head, I didn't know what to say. Then Ashley breathed out and said again, "I had a crush on Arthur, but Arthur always avoided me. I don't know why he's not seeing my beauty." I sympathized with her, but my attention was still on the commotion.

"Enough!" Alpha Ethan stopped Luna Emilia from disgracing Arthur and told her that Arthur had every right to be there as a member of the family. Suddenly, we heard a voice saying, "Hello, everyone! Oh, Arthur, I knew you would be here."

We all turned back to see a young handsome guy who looked to be the same age as Arthur. He noticed all eyes on him and Alpha Ethan turned to Arthur and asked, "Who is that?" Before Arthur could speak, the guy introduced himself as Leonard, Arthur's best friend.

"Father, my party is getting ruined!" Emma said with anger, and Alpha Ethan apologized to everyone for the little commotion and told them to enjoy the party. Luna Emilia was furious and walked away.

Alpha Ethan told his daughter Emma that she could see that her party was not ruined anymore, but Emma wasn't satisfied. Alpha Ethan and the other Alphas started talking, and Arthur dragged Leonard to one side and asked him why he showed up without telling him. Leonard told Arthur that there was no big deal.

Ashley excuse herself from me, then Leonard pointed at me and asked if I was a maid here. I said yes, and then he told me to go and bring wine for him. I saw the embarrassed look on Arthur's face as I made my way to get the wine.

I walked back with the wine, I could hear the conversation between Arthur and Leonard. "Why did you come here, Leonard? You know it's not safe for you," Arthur said with concern in his voice. "I couldn't miss your sister's birthday party, man. Besides, I wanted to see you and check on how you're doing here, since your stepmother is a witch wolf," Leonard replied with a smile on his face. Arthur gritted his teeth, "keep your voice low!"

As I approached them closely, Arthur introducing me to Leonard. "Leonard, this is Eira. She's one of the maids here," Arthur said as he gestured towards me. "Nice to meet you, Eira. I'm Leonard. You're looking beautiful tonight," Leonard said with a wink, making me blush.Just then, Alpha Mondragon and Luna Isabella came over to where Alpha Ethan and the other Alphas were standing. As they approached, Leonard's face turned serious. "Arthur, you need to stay away from them. They're not good people," Leonard whispered to Arthur.

I could see the fear in Arthur's eyes as he looked at Alpha Mondragon and Luna Isabella. It was as if he knew something that we didn't. Just then, Luna Isabella turned her attention towards us and glared at me. "What is she doing here with you, Arthur? I thought she was a maid who should be attending to guess," Luna Isabella said with a sneer.

"Yes, she is a maid, Luna Isabella. What's the problem?" Arthur replied, trying to remain calm.

"Well, I don't think your father, Alpha Ethan, will want his son hanging around with maids. You should know better than that, Arthur," Alpha Mondragon interjected, looking at me.

I could feel the anger building up inside of me, but I knew I had to remain calm. I handed the wine to Leonard and turned to leave, but Luna Isabella grabbed my arm. "Where do you think you're going, little maid?" she spat.

I pulled my arm away from her grasp and looked her straight in the eye. "I'm sorry, Luna Isabella, but I have work to do. If you'll excuse me," I said before walking away.

As I walked towards the kitchen, I could hear Luna Isabella and Alpha Mondragon laughing at me. I felt humiliated and angry, but I knew I couldn't let them get the best of me. When I got to the kitchen, I took a deep breath and tried to calm myself down.

Just then, Rose came into the kitchen and saw me. Rose is one of the maid, "Eira! You're Emma new maid right? Well, my name is Rose. I'm also a maid here, but what are you doing here? The party is outside. You should be enjoying it," Rose said with a smile.

"I know Rose, I'm just nervous, but I will head outside now." I replied with a smile.

"Well, hurry up and come back outside. They're going to play some games soon," Rose said excitedly before running back outside.

As the night went on, I tried my best to enjoy the party, but the memory of Luna Isabella and Alpha Mondragon's humiliation still lingered in my mind.
