As Xie Ren's eyes scanned the system's store, his brow furrowed. The prices listed for the items were absurdly high.
His lips curled into a scowl as he muttered under his breath, "system, what kind of joke is this? Who can afford this price?"
Seeing the little fairy did not reply, Xie Ren sighed in frustration. His luck points were still limited, and the items he wanted were far beyond his reach.
A Heaven-grade skill for 10,000 LP? A Phoenix Wings ability for 20,000 LP? What were those ridiculous pricing? It was as if system intentionally generated these numbers to mock his poor self.
He sighed, feeling both helpless and exasperated. "I don't need Phoenix Wings or a Death Arrow."
A simple Bottle of Elixir would heal him when injured, but that didn't seem worth spending his points on right now. He didn't need mobility like Phoenix Wings, nor did he want to spend all his points on skills he wasn't even interested in.
With a resigned sigh, Xie Ren set his mind on something more practical. "Fine, if I can't get anything flashy, at least I'll grab some decent weapons."
After a moment's hesitation, he settled on two weapons, a large saber and a long sword. The price was right, and at least they would be useful in battle.
[You have spent 5,000 LP on a Large Saber and a Long Sword.]
…
"Yinyin, this high-level Earth-grade saber is for you," Xie Ren said, tossing the weapon to her. "But remember, no more attacking your Master. If you try it again, I'll have to punish you for real."
Chen Yinyin caught the saber and ran her fingers over the polished blade, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
Back in her past life, she had wielded Heaven-grade weapons, but in Empyrean Cloud City, even a mid-tier Mortal-grade weapon was considered a treasure. Now, with a high-level Earth-grade weapon in her hands, how could she not be thrilled?
[A/N: Mortal, Profound, Earth, and Heaven...for now. Note: Mortal grade doesn't refer to ordinary weapons, but yeah basically stronger version of ordinary weapon.]
As for challenging Xie Ren again, she dismissed the thought immediately. This man was too unfathomable. Until she fully grasped his true strength, she wouldn't dare provoke him.
She hesitated for a moment before asking, "Master, what's your cultivation level?"
"Qi Refining stage," Xie Ren answered without hesitation.
"You're lying!" Chen Yinyin's eyes widened in disbelief. Given the power he had displayed, there was no way he was just at the Qi Refining stage.
Xie Ren shrugged. "Believe it or not, I don't care."
Without waiting for her response, he retrieved a long sword and handed it to Lan Yue. "Yue, this one's for you. I know you're more suited to using a sword, so I picked this for you."
Lan Yue took the sword with both hands, her expression filled with gratitude. But instead of asking about its grade, she asked, "Master, does it have a name?"
"No, you can name it yourself," Xie Ren said casually.
Lan Yue thought for a moment before smiling. "Then I'll call it Silver!"
Xie Ren's lips twitched. Silver? That's not even a name, it's just the color of the sword. Does she have terrible naming sense?
"Silver sounds a bit casual. How about picking something else?" he suggested.
"Master, I think Silver is a good name," Lan Yue insisted, looking pleased with her choice.
Xie Ren sighed inwardly. "Alright, Silver it is."
With that settled, he turned his focus inward, contemplating the ways to get more luck points.
So far, he had discovered two ways.
The first method was to take on disciples. However, the system required his disciples to possess at least S-grade talent. Taishan Continent was vast, but geniuses of that caliber were exceedingly rare. Recruiting such disciples would be no easy feat.
The second method was to slay a Child of Destiny. However, these individuals were favored by the Heavenly Dao, meaning fate itself would shield them from harm.
Not only were they absurdly difficult to kill, but he also couldn't take direct action against them, he needed to find loopholes or indirect means.
Both paths were incredibly challenging.
Just as Xie Ren was lost in thought, a voice broke through his musings.
"Master, look! There's a fight happening at our sect's entrance!" Lan Yue suddenly exclaimed, pointing toward the commotion.
Before Xie Ren could respond, the little fairy's soft, echoed in his mind, catching his attention.
[Lord immortal, I've detected a Genius Disciple candidate detected nearby.]
Then a description appeared before him.
[Name: Mo Wushuang.]
[Talent: SSS-Grade.]
[Identity: Reincarnation of the Icejade Sovereign.]
[Special Physique: Soaring Ice Spirit Body.]
[Suggestion: Host should recruit her as a disciple.]
