The morning sun peeked through the windows, casting a golden glow over the dormitory. The air was crisp, filled with the distant sounds of birds chirping and the faint chatter of students getting ready for the day.
Ren groaned, rolling over in his bed, his body aching from the intense training the day before. His muscles protested with every movement, reminding him just how brutal Tsukihara had been.
"Ugh… remind me never to trust that trickster again," Ren muttered, rubbing his eyes.
Kael, on the bed next to him, was face-down in his pillow, his arms sprawled out like he had been thrown there by some unseen force. His muffled voice groaned, "Five more minutes..."
Ren sighed, pushing himself up. "Come on, we have class today. We can't be late."
Kael groaned dramatically before rolling off the bed and landing on the floor with a loud thud.
"Okay, now I'm awake," Kael mumbled.
After getting dressed, the twins made their way to the academy, still feeling sore. The hallways were bustling with students, some chatting excitedly, others complaining about upcoming tests. The familiar scent of parchment and ink filled the air as they stepped into their classroom and took their usual seats near the back.
Ren let out a deep sigh, resting his chin in his hand. "At least today should be easy."
But fate had other plans.
Just as the class settled down, the door suddenly slid open.
A tall figure stepped inside. The room fell silent as all eyes turned to the new arrival.
He was a young man, probably around their age, with strikingly sharp features and an air of confidence that was almost unnatural. His black hair was slightly messy, yet it seemed intentional, and his golden eyes gleamed mischievously under the morning light. His uniform was perfectly fitted, giving him an almost princely appearance.
The boy scanned the room, a smirk playing on his lips.
"Good morning, everyone," he said smoothly, his voice almost silk-like. "My name is Lucien Veyne, and I'll be joining this class starting today."
Some students whispered among themselves, intrigued by the newcomer's presence.
But then, it happened.
As Lucien finished his introduction, he casually turned his gaze towards Ren.
And then—
He winked.
A slow, deliberate wink.
A chill shot down Ren's spine like an electric current. His entire body tensed up. It was as if a foreign, unknown pressure had just washed over him.
Kael, sitting next to him, jerked back so violently that his chair tipped over, sending him crashing onto the floor with a loud BANG!
The entire class turned to look at Kael, confused.
"Uh… Kael? You good?" one student asked.
Kael scrambled to sit up, his face pale. His eyes darted back and forth between Lucien and Ren.
"D-Did you see that?!" Kael hissed, pointing at Lucien like he had just seen a ghost.
Ren, still frozen in place, barely managed to whisper, "I saw it…"
But nobody else in the class seemed to have noticed anything.
As far as they were concerned, Lucien was just a normal transfer student.
Yet, for Ren and Kael, something felt deeply, deeply wrong about him.
And they had no idea what they had just gotten themselves into.
Lucien took his seat... right next to Ren.
"Ah, what a wonderful morning. And to be seated beside such a handsome classmate—how lucky am I?" Lucien sighed dramatically, resting his chin in his palm as he gazed at Ren with way too much interest.
Ren tensed. His entire body went cold. A thousand thoughts raced through his head.
(Why is he looking at me like that? Why did he just say that? Oh no... oh NO—)
Kael, on the other hand, was trying to hold in his laughter.
Lucien winked.
Ren nearly threw himself out the window.
First Class: Combat Theory
The instructor began explaining battle strategies, but Ren couldn't focus. Not when Lucien kept leaning closer, whispering things like:
"So, Ren~ Do you have a girlfriend? Or perhaps… a boyfriend?"
Ren choked on air.
Kael was dying of silent laughter.
"W-what?! No!" Ren hissed back in horror.
"Oh? That means you're available~?" Lucien said, flashing him a smug grin.
Ren froze, his brain shutting down entirely. His soul left his body.
Second Class: Sparring Practice
During their sparring session, Ren was paired with Lucien.
"Don't hold back now, Ren~," Lucien purred, cracking his knuckles.
Ren, traumatized, barely moved as Lucien dashed at him. But instead of throwing a punch—
Lucien gracefully spun, grabbed Ren's hand, and twirled him like a ballroom dance partner.
The entire class watched in stunned silence.
"Wh-what are you doing?!" Ren shouted, his face burning.
"Ah, my mistake," Lucien chuckled. "I just wanted to hold your hand~."
Kael collapsed on the floor laughing.
Lunch Break: The Ultimate Betrayal
By the time lunch rolled around, Ren was shaking. He couldn't even eat properly. Every time he took a bite, he could feel Lucien's eyes on him.
Then, it happened.
Lucien leaned close and whispered, "Hey, Ren… Can I feed you?"
Ren's entire existence shattered.
Kael, at this point, was laughing so hard that he had fallen out of his seat. Tears streamed down his face as he gasped for air.
Ren, unable to take any more, sprinted out of the cafeteria, nearly knocking over three students in his escape.
And just like that, Ren's entire day had become a nightmare.
He had never experienced such horror in his life. Not even their training with Tsukihara had been this brutal.
And the worst part?
Lucien wasn't done yet.
