Chapter 12: "Medusa" Battles the Fire Spirit Snake

Just as Wu Tian was considering advising Medusa to take a long term approach and escape, he heard the voice of the limited time voice girl ring in his ear.

"Ding! Congratulations, Host! You have triggered the side quest 'Protect the Queen': Protect Queen Medusa and help her defeat the sixth tier magical beast, the two headed Fire Spirit Snake."

"Quest Rewards: One Ice Lotus Platform, One Pool of Ice Cold Spring!"

…Such clear and tempting rewards! I really can't refuse!

Wu Tian knew the Fire Spirit Snake was launching a widespread attack. With a flap of his wings, he traced an arc through the air and evaded the incoming magma columns. As he dodged, his form swiftly closed in on the Fire Spirit Snake. Suddenly, in "Medusa's" hands, a large transparent broadsword appeared. This broadsword was formed from Wu Tian's condensed energy. A sword is a bold weapon, perfect for dealing with this Fire Spirit Snake.

Seeing "Medusa" approaching, the Fire Spirit Snake opened its two massive mouths, preparing to tear and devour her in one bite.

"Medusa" was more than happy to oblige, and the broadsword in her hands suddenly glowed with transparent battle energy. The blade traced a strange arc in the air, looking incredibly dazzling. The massive sword and the Fire Spirit Snake's two open mouths collided, triggering a huge energy shockwave. But since the Fire Spirit Snake was only a sixth tier early stage magical beast, it was somewhat weaker than Wu Tian, who was at the peak of the Douhuang level. Moreover, Wu Tian was not being suppressed by the terrifying fire element of the magma world, leaving the Fire Spirit Snake at a disadvantage from the very start of the clash.

Ten gigantic two headed Fire Spirit Snakes glared at "Medusa." After hovering in the air briefly, they hissed in unison. Together, they formed a fiery battle array so scorching it could evaporate the very air, bearing down on "Medusa" from every direction.

"Medusa's" red lips curved slightly. To deal a crushing blow to the Fire Spirit Snake, I need to destroy it in one go!

A powerful surge of energy instantly burst from her body the overwhelming might of Wu Tian at Douhuang Peak exploded from her as its center.

"Boom~"

Amid this earth shattering explosion, the ten Fire Spirit Snakes collided head on. The moment they made contact, they detonated in a fierce blast. That violent energy burst rippled outward, further agitating the already raging lava lake. This destructive scene could have obliterated any city. At the same time, Medusa's graceful form dove into the tumultuous lava, protected by a layer of energy shield. That shield was not Wu Tian's soul power; it was Medusa's own.

At that point, Wu Tian had already relinquished control; more precisely, he was feeling drained. That intense explosion had even left him, at Douhuang Peak, somewhat weakened. The two headed Fire Spirit Snake might recover in the magma, but it wouldn't be able to do so quickly. Now was the perfect time to seize the strange flame.

Medusa's body swam rapidly toward the bottom of the magma. She could feel the rising temperature as she descended; even the mighty Queen Medusa was suffering greatly.

Wu Tian felt a twinge of pity in his heart and silently wondered, "How can I ease her discomfort?"
