Chapter 113: Yao Chen’s Sinister Laughter and Xiao Yan

Chapter 113: Yao Chen's Sinister Laughter and Xiao Yan

"It doesn't matter who I am," Yao Chen said casually. "What matters is that I won't harm you. Ah… after all these years, I've finally found someone with a strong enough soul! What luck! Hehe… but first, I must thank you, little brat, for feeding me for the past three years. Otherwise, I'd probably still be trapped in an endless slumber!"

Yao Chen had no idea what Model 2060 meant, so he simply let out a sinister, old man laugh, playing along with Xiao Yan's assumption.

"Feeding you?" Xiao Yan blinked in confusion.

Then

His expression instantly darkened.

"Three years… Feeding you?!"

His body trembled, and from between his clenched teeth, he slowly forced out a chilling sentence

"The reason my Dou Qi mysteriously disappeared… was because of you?!"

"Hehe~ I had no choice, little brat! Don't blame me!" Yao Chen cackled.

"FCK YOUR EXCUSES! SO THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL 'NOT HARMING ME'?! IF YOU REALLY WANTED TO HURT ME, WHAT MORE COULD YOU HAVE DONE?!"*

Xiao Yan, who had endured three years of humiliation, finally snapped.

Like a madman, he ripped the ring off his finger and furiously stomped on it multiple times.

Then

He grabbed a chair and started smashing it against the ring with all his might.

"You damn old man! You ruined my life! Three years! THREE YEARS OF HUMILIATION!!!"

"Little brat~ don't be so angry~!" Yao Chen's eerie voice rang out once more. "So what if I drained your Dou Qi for three years? Besides, this isn't my fault it's your mother's fault for giving you this ring!"

Xiao Yan's face twitched violently.

Damn it

He wasn't wrong.

This ring was his mother's keepsake.

And his Dou Qi had vanished only because he insisted on wearing it.

So technically

Yes.

It was his mother's fault.

But even though that logic made sense, it didn't make Xiao Yan feel any better.

His rage wasn't going anywhere.

So he kept beating the ring.

Again.

And again.

Until finally

Yao Chen floated out of the ring, appearing as a ghostly figure.

He looked almost identical to how Wu Tian had first appeared in front of Queen Medusa.

Meanwhile

In Gu Xun'er's room, Wu Tian and Ling Ying sat staring at each other.

Neither spoke.

The atmosphere was tense.

Then, Wu Tian's lips curled into a mysterious smirk.

"You're temporarily fired."

Ling Ying's eye twitched.

"What the hell?! I'm Gu Xun'er's bodyguard! You can't just fire me!"

"Xun'er will be staying by my side for now," Wu Tian said calmly. "During this period, I don't want to see you anywhere near us. You can stay in Wutan City, but you're not allowed to set foot in the Xiao Clan."

"You !"

Ling Ying was about to argue, but then

He saw Gu Xun'er snuggling against Wu Tian with a blissful expression.

Her eyes gleamed with undeniable affection.

Ling Ying fell silent.

Well

What else could he do?

Argue?

Yeah, right.

If Gu Xun'er had already made up her mind, there was no point in resisting.

On the other hand

At least he was still getting paid.

Paid vacation, baby!

Ling Ying sighed.

His body shrouded itself in dark mist as he prepared to leave.

But just before he vanished, Wu Tian spoke again

"Oh, wait. Don't leave just yet."

"What now?!"

"You're only fired starting tomorrow. For tonight, you still need to guard Xun'er. I need to go out for a bit."

Ling Ying: "…"

So let's get this straight

Wu Tian gets to cuddle with Gu Xun'er all night…

And I just have to sit here and watch like some third wheel idiot?!

"Screw this!"

Ling Ying disappeared in a flash.

He needed to go chill on the rooftop before he lost his damn mind.

Back to Xiao Yan

The rage inside Xiao Yan hadn't died down.

For him

Yao Chen was the root cause of all his suffering.

Pointing a trembling finger at the old man, he roared

"Old man! You were hiding in that ring this whole time! You must've seen how much I suffered for these past three years!"

"Do you have any idea how much humiliation I endured because of you?!"

But as he spoke

His anger slightly eased.

Because

The more he looked at Yao Chen, the more he realized

This old man might be a big deal.

After all

How many people could exist in a spirit form without perishing?

Seeing Xiao Yan's expression shift, Yao Chen smirked.

"Heh. Good. The boy's not a complete idiot."

With a knowing look, Yao Chen said, "So? You've grown, haven't you? If this were three years ago, would you have had the patience to endure such suffering?"

"Would you have developed this level of mental fortitude?"

Xiao Yan's brows furrowed.

His heart, once filled with fury, slowly settled down.

He had to admit

The old man wasn't wrong.

Three years ago, he was just an arrogant, hot blooded youth.

But now?

Now, he was someone who had learned patience.

Someone who had experienced the ugly truths of human nature.

And now

He finally understood why his Dou Qi had disappeared.

Which meant

His talent was back.

And if his talent was back

Then returning to his former peak would be easy.

The thought filled him with relief.

For the first time in years

The weight on his chest lightened.

Even the old man before him no longer seemed as detestable.

Of course, Xiao Yan wasn't stupid.

He knew this old geezer was far from harmless.

He'd have to be very careful around him.

So

He took a deep breath.

And, stretching his wrists, he exhaled all the pent up frustration from the past three years.

"I still don't know who you are," he said flatly.

"But let me ask you this "

"Are you going to keep draining my Dou Qi?"

"If you are, then you might as well find someone else

Like Wu Tian or Gu Xun'er. They have way more Qi than I do."

Yao Chen stroked his beard, amused.

"Hehe~ I don't know what a 'Kun' is, but I get the gist of what you're saying."

"Don't worry I won't take your Dou Qi without permission."

Then

His tone shifted.

"Little brat "

"Do you want power?"

"Do you want to be respected?"

"Do you want to make those who humiliated you regret it?"

Xiao Yan smirked.

"And you can help me with that?"

"Of course," Yao Chen said smugly. "But I can only help you reach Dou Qi Level Seven within a year."

Xiao Yan grinned.

"If you can do that, then I'll forget about the whole 'draining my Dou Qi for three years' thing. Deal?"

Yao Chen studied him for a moment.

Then

A sinister grin spread across his face.

"Heh… you drive a hard bargain, kid."

"Fine. I accept."

Then

"Kekekekeke~"

Yao Chen let out a chilling laugh.

And Xiao Yan

Mockingly mimicked him.

"Kekekekeke~"
