In the Land of Rain, Nagato smiled as he saw a rainbow appear in the sky.
These past few days, the Land of Rain had seen several moments of sunlight.
The sunlight brought a glimmer of hope to this rain-soaked nation.
Nagato's spirits had lifted significantly. After equipping three Naruto forms yesterday, he discovered that Naruto provided an immense amount of Chakra, including the Tailed Beast variant.
This was a huge help for him!
So he got up and went outside to admire the sun.
Then, from a great distance, Nagato saw what looked like a massive fireball exploding in the direction of the Land of Fire...
'Was that... Konoha's territory?!'
Nagato was shocked, 'Who had beaten me to the punch and blown up Konoha?'
Then he immediately sent the Six Paths of Pain to investigate.
---
At the border of the Land of Fire, Deidara and Sasori stared in stunned silence at the massive explosion that had nearly landed right beside them.
After the explosion, the shockwave alone nearly tore their clothes to shreds. Fortunately, the Akatsuki robes were well-made and held up, as long as they weren't the ones taking them off.
After a long silence, Sasori looked at the enormous crater that had appeared in front of them, where not a single tree remained…everything had been reduced to debris.
He finally muttered, "I really do hate explosions. They just don't align with my aesthetic."
At this moment, Deidara hadn't responded yet.
---
Jiraiya and Sasuke, who had thrown themselves to the ground, waited a few minutes before confirming that the shockwave had passed.
They looked back at the path they had come from... now completely obliterated by the explosion.
At the center of the explosion, Kakashi struggled to maintain his Susanoo, shielding Naruto and Sakura.
But how could a Susanoo withstand a full-power attack from half of the Nine-Tails' Chakra? Even if it could... this was an attack from Naruto!
And it was infused with a significant portion of Naruto's Chakra. Even ignoring the Rasenshuriken, Naruto's special abilities amplified the attack!
Naruto's special ability... the angrier he was, the more powerful his attacks became!
If it were Madara's Susanoo, it might have held up for a while, but Kakashi's... was a bit lacking.
Kakashi's Chakra was draining rapidly, and the Susanoo was being eroded bit by bit by the explosion.
In the face of the massive heatwave, even the towering Susanoo seemed fragile.
Kakashi suddenly activated his ability, 'I can go fifty-fifty with the explosion!'
Then... the Susanoo became incredibly resilient, buying Kakashi enough time to send Sakura and Naruto into the Kamui Dimension.
After that, Kakashi also avoided the explosion by using Kamui.
Kakashi, who had narrowly escaped death, felt exactly the same as Jiraiya, Sasuke, Sasori and others… He was grateful to still be alive.
At this moment, Deidara still hadn't responded.
But unlike the others... Kakashi was utterly shocked by the power of Naruto's attack.
To say it wasn't powerful would be a lie. The problem was... it was too powerful!
So much so that Kakashi wondered if Konoha had been wiped out by this explosion.
After spending about ten minutes in the Kamui Dimension, Kakashi finally brought the unconscious Naruto and the nearly catatonic Sakura back out.
However, the place where they had been standing was now a massive crater.
The ground had completely vanished, replaced by rushing seawater below!
'Had Naruto's attack... connected the sea near the Land of Rivers to the Land of Fire?!'
Kakashi's shock grew. Now the question was... 'How was I supposed to land?'
'Even if we kept Chakra attached to our feet, we wouldn't be able to sustain ourselves at this height.'
As they got closer to the water's surface, Kakashi timed it perfectly and pulled Naruto, Sakura, and himself back into the Kamui Dimension again!
Then he brought them back out.
This effectively reset their falling height.
Thanks to Kakashi's quick thinking, the three of them landed safely.
Then they faced the next problem...
How were they supposed to get back to land?
Looking at the endless expanse of ocean around them, it was hard to believe that just moments ago, this had been a forest.
Helplessly rubbing his forehead, Kakashi summoned Pakkun.
Pakkun responded to the summoning, only to immediately fall into the water upon appearing.
"Hmm? Kakashi... glug glug..."
Pakkun frantically surfaced, looking at Kakashi in panic, "What the…? Where have you brought me? Is this even still the Land of Fire?"
After glancing at the endless sea around them, Pakkun questioned, "When did you come to the Land of Water for a mission? And without a boat? You'd probably have to walk for a day and a night to get anywhere! And with your Chakra Reserves, can you even sustain walking on water for that long?"
Kakashi was speechless, 'What kind of words were these? What do you mean by whether I have enough chakra? Do you still think I am the 'Chakra-less wonder'?'
But having said that... he had been using Susanoo for quite a while earlier, so his Chakra was running a bit low.
Kakashi explained: "This is the Land of Fire..."
But Pakkun's skeptical look stopped him.
"Alright, fine. This is actually the western forest of Konoha."
Pakkun nodded. It believed him.
Mainly because... Kakashi wouldn't make up such a lame excuse.
Then Pakkun asked, "This is the western forest of Konoha? Where's the forest, huh?"
"And on top of that, you've got two deadweights with you! How are you supposed to get out of here?"
There is no doubt that the 'deadweights' Pakkun was referring to were Naruto and Sakura.
Kakashi was speechless and asked, "Where was were you when I summoned you?"
Parker answered honestly, "In Konoha. I was washing my hair at your place."
"Didn't you see the explosion?"
Pakkun looked confused. "Explosion? That loud noise earlier? Are you saying... there was an explosion that leveled the western forest of Konoha? Or more accurately, turned the forest into an ocean? How could something so ridiculous happen?"
Kakashi said, "You might not believe it, but the person responsible for this is the 'deadweight' you're talking about."
Kakashi pointed at the still-unconscious Naruto, and Pakkun nearly turned to stone upon hearing this.
"No way. I need to go back to Konoha and check. I'll also call for help while I'm at it."
Pakkun immediately made the decision, which was exactly what Kakashi had in mind.
As for who to call, Kakashi already had an answer.
"Make sure to tell Manager about this. Ask him to come rescue us..."
With that, Pakkun disappeared in a puff of smoke.
'I could only hope that Manager would be willing to help them out of this mess and also take a look at what was going on with Naruto.'
'And... we'd need Konoha to handle the aftermath.'
'Thankfully, there were no residents nearby, and the explosion was far enough from the village.'
'According to Pakkun, while the explosion was clearly heard in Konoha, the village itself hadn't been affected. That was a relief... a small relief...'
