Chapter 9

"I initially wanted to keep this buried, but you've forced my hand," I said.

With that, I pulled out the agreement where Donavan took the blame.

Jade read the contents of the agreement, her face growing increasingly grim.

If I were to expose this agreement, Donavan would face a public relations nightmare.

And as his associate, she would naturally be affected too.

For her, it was all downside with no upside.

"This... how is this possible?"

Jade looked at me, her big eyes brimming with tears.

"Please don't expose this. I'll delete the post right away, and I'll give you the project too."

"I was wrong..."

I snatched back the agreement and said in a cool tone:

"I'll think about it."

With those words, I closed the door, showing her out.

Jade, not having received a definitive answer, frantically pounded on the door.

I called security right away and had her forcibly removed from the apartment.
