Chapter 6: The Unexpected DNA Test.

POV: Kang Seo-ah (SFL) as Kang Ji-ah (FL)

Living as Kang Ji-ah was effortless.

I had taken her place, and no one questioned it.

Not even Ahn Jae-hyun.

But then, something happened that I hadn't planned for.

A DNA test.

---

A Sudden Request

I was sitting in Ji-ah's office, flipping through files, when a knock sounded on the door.

"Come in," I said, mimicking Ji-ah's usual tone.

Ahn Jae-hyun stepped inside, his expression unreadable.

"We need to talk," he said.

I forced a smile. "What's wrong?"

He hesitated. Then, he placed an envelope on the desk.

A hospital document.

I swallowed hard.

"What is this?"

---

The DNA Test

"I went for a routine checkup," Jae-hyun said. "They recommended some genetic screening."

I nodded, pretending to be calm.

He continued, "They suggested testing our compatibility—just in case we ever need it for our future children."

My heart pounded.

I wasn't Ji-ah.

If they tested my DNA against Jae-hyun's, he would know the truth.

I needed to stop this.

---

A Desperate Move

"That's not necessary," I said quickly.

Jae-hyun frowned. "Why not?"

Think, Seo-ah. Think.

"I… I don't like hospitals," I said, forcing a shaky laugh. "You know that."

He studied me for a long moment.

Then, he sighed. "Alright. We won't do it if you're uncomfortable."

Relief flooded through me.

But it was short-lived.

Because the next words out of his mouth shattered my confidence.

"I already submitted our blood samples."

---

The Results

I barely held my composure.

Jae-hyun handed me the envelope.

"The results arrived today," he said.

My hands trembled as I opened it.

And then, I saw it.

No match.

Jae-hyun and I weren't biologically compatible as partners.

Because I wasn't Kang Ji-ah.

I slowly looked up.

Jae-hyun was staring at me.

And I knew.

He suspected something.

The Realization

POV: Ahn Jae-hyun (ML)

Something felt wrong.

Ji-ah had been acting strange, but I had ignored it.

Until now.

I watched as she stared at the DNA test, her hands shaking.

Why was she so scared?

Then, a chilling thought entered my mind.

What if the woman standing in front of me wasn't my wife?
