(POV: Ahn Min-jae – The Blood That Betrayed Me)
---
A Face from the Past
I couldn't breathe.
The man in the photo had a strong resemblance to me—same sharp jawline, same piercing gaze. But I had never seen him before.
"Who is he?" My voice was hoarse.
Ahn Sang-hoon smirked, as if he had been waiting for this moment. "Your real father, Min-jae."
The words hit like a bullet. I gritted my teeth. "Why would my mother be with her greatest enemy?"
He chuckled, shaking his head. "Because she loved him."
---
A Mother's Secret
I clenched my fists. "What the hell are you talking about?"
Ahn Sang-hoon leaned forward. "Your mother was never supposed to be mine. She was engaged to your real father. They were in love. But I took everything from him—including her."
The air felt thick. My stomach twisted in disgust.
"You forced her?" I asked, my voice dangerously low.
He scoffed. "Not in the way you think. I didn't need to. I destroyed his company, took away everything he had, and left him with no choice but to disappear. Your mother had no one to rely on. So she married me instead."
I swallowed hard.
All my life, I had thought my mother was just a quiet, submissive woman—someone who loved my father despite his cruelty.
But now, I was seeing the truth.
She had been trapped.
---
A Past Buried in Lies
"Where is he now?" I demanded.
Ahn Sang-hoon chuckled darkly. "Dead."
The room spun.
"You killed him."
"I didn't have to. The world did. When you take away everything from a man, sometimes, he gives up on his own."
Something inside me snapped.
"And you raised his son as your own?" I growled.
He smirked. "I raised you to be better than him. And you are, aren't you? Look at you—my strongest competitor, my greatest challenge. The son I molded into my perfect enemy."
My hands shook with rage.
I had spent years trying to prove myself to this man. I had fought for his approval, only to realize he never saw me as a son. I was just a game piece to him.
A way to erase his enemy completely.
---
Breaking the Chain
I took a slow breath, forcing myself to calm down.
"You won't control me anymore," I said coldly. "You want to ruin me? Try. But I swear, I will be the one to end you."
Ahn Sang-hoon's smirk faltered for the first time.
"Min-jae—"
"Don't call me that." I cut him off. "I'm not your son."
For the first time in my life, I felt free.
And for the first time—
Ahn Sang-hoon looked afraid.
