Chapter 59: Boarding Battle

Under the night sky, the sea stretched like a black ribbon, separating the heavens from the earth. The ocean was shrouded in an air of mystery, as if hiding countless unknown dangers.

The sea at night felt like a bottomless abyss, where even the closest objects were swallowed by darkness.

Behind the warship, a shadow silently approached. A massive pirate ship glided across the water like a ghost, its sails blending into the darkness, leaving only a faint outline.

"Captain Litt, the cannons are loaded and ready!" a pirate hurriedly reported to the man holding a telescope at the bow.

Litt, with a bounty of 25 million berries, was an infamous pirate in the South Sea. He had led his crew to attack numerous innocent merchant ships and naval fleets, striking fear into the hearts of many.

On the bridge of the pirate ship, Litt stood at the bow, his eyes burning with ambition and desire.

He narrowed his eyes, his fingers gripping the ship's railing tightly as he waited for the right moment.

Behind him, a group of armed and menacing pirates stood ready, awaiting his command.

"Understood."

Litt extended his hand, feeling the change in the wind, then raised an eyebrow.

"It's time to attack!"

Suddenly, Litt gave the order.

"Roger!"

The pirates, like hungry beasts, fixed their gaze on the warship ahead. They rowed silently, charging toward the naval fleet.

Litt chuckled. After plundering this warship, they would be able to live lavishly for a long time.

...

"Huh? I didn't expect there to be pirates foolish enough to come here..." Renji's expression was odd. Even in this desolate place, there were pirates?

Kuzan was also puzzled. "There aren't any islands nearby, right? Could they be so weak that they only dare to hide here?"

But Kuzan quickly dismissed the thought. If they were weak, they wouldn't dare attack the Navy.

Renji had eaten a bit too much for dinner and wasn't in the mood to move.

"Go handle it," he said.

Kuzan immediately put on his coat and strode toward the deck, his footsteps steady and firm.

To be honest, in the entire South Sea, as long as Renji didn't intervene, Kuzan feared no one.

"Stay alert! Pirates are heading our way!"

Without hesitation, he ordered his men to prepare.

The Marines didn't dare to be careless and immediately sprang into action, adjusting the fleet's defensive formation to prepare for the impending attack.

The pirates on the pirate ship noticed the movement on the warship, and a cruel smile flashed across their faces.

Litt stood at the bow, his eyes filled with violence. He knew it was time to act.

"Are you ready?" Litt's voice was cold and firm. He gripped the ship's railing tightly, scanning the sea.

"Ready!" the pirates shouted in unison, their eyes burning with the fire of battle, unafraid of the impending fight.

Litt gave the order decisively: "Fire!"

"BOOM!!!"

At Litt's command, the cannons on the pirate ship roared, lighting up the dark night sky. The flames reflected off the churning waves.

Kuzan's eyes focused on the incoming cannonballs. Without hesitation, he rushed to the front of the warship.

He concentrated, his hands glowing with a pale blue light as he summoned his powers. A chilling cold spread, making the Marines shiver.

Suddenly, icy blue beams shot out from beneath his feet, slicing through the air like blades.

"Ice Block: Partisan."

The ice spears spun rapidly, their freezing aura spreading. The cannonballs fired by the pirates were struck by the ice before they could reach the naval fleet.

Bright flashes of light illuminated the scene as the cannonballs were frozen solid, turning into crystal-clear blocks of ice before plummeting into the sea, sending up sprays of water.

"..."

"Lieutenant Commander Kuzan blocked the enemy's cannon fire!"

The Marines watched Kuzan's display with admiration.

"Now it's our turn to counterattack!"

The Navy were the true masters of artillery, and unlike the pirates, they had plenty of ammunition.

The situation instantly reversed. Dozens of cannons aimed at the pirate ship, and with a deafening roar, the cannonballs slammed into the pirate ship, sending up massive waves.

The pirate ship trembled on the sea, seemingly on the verge of sinking.

"Captain, the Navy's firepower is too strong! They're completely overwhelming us!" the pirates groaned. "And they have a Devil Fruit user who neutralized our attacks!"

Litt frowned, realizing that their long-range tactics had failed. Fortunately, thanks to the relentless rowing of his crew, their ship was now very close to the warship.

"Launch flash bombs! Prepare for boarding!"

In naval battles, boarding was an extremely dangerous tactic, requiring exceptional combat skills.

And his pirate crew happened to excel at this!

The pirates sprang into action. The crossbowmen on the ship raised flash bombs, expertly lighting the fuses and hurling them toward the naval fleet.

Suddenly, blinding flashes of light erupted in the night sky, illuminating the entire sea and dazzling the Marines.

"Charge!"

Litt brandished his weapon and led his pirates in a fierce charge toward the naval fleet.

"Kill them!!!"

Taking advantage of the flash bombs' effect, the pirates pounced like wild beasts, stomping across the chains that connected the ships and charging toward the warship's hull.

Litt's eyes gleamed with cunning as he swung his sword, leading the charge onto the warship's deck.

"Hahaha, Marines, prepare to die! I'm Litt, here to send you to your graves!"

He knew this was a decisive battle. Only by completely crushing the naval fleet could he claim victory and seize greater spoils.

"Did you forget about me?" Kuzan's eyes glinted coldly. "Don't bother looking back. Your crew isn't coming."

"Clang!!!"

The chains connecting the two ships let out a sharp sound, and the pirates standing on them fell into the sea.

"You!"

Litt stared at the ice blade in Kuzan's hand and gulped.

"I think we can sit down and talk this out..."

Meanwhile.

A massive figure swam in the depths of the ocean, drawn by the light of the flash bombs. It gradually approached the surface.

As the deep-sea creature drew closer, the pirates noticed the world growing brighter, as if dawn had arrived.

As for the Marines, most of them were still keeping their eyes shut, the effects of the flash bombs not yet worn off.

"Is it morning already?" a pirate asked, confused.

They instinctively sensed something was wrong. It was only midnight, and the sun was still asleep. What could be causing the sky to light up like this?

Just as everyone was baffled.

The sea began to churn violently, waves surging and forming a massive whirlpool.

In the next moment, a colossal water column erupted from the sea, like the hand of a sea god, flipping the pirate ship in an instant. Water sprayed everywhere, causing screams and chaos.

The pirates were thrown about by the violent currents, some swallowed by the sea, others struck by the water column, suffering heavy casualties.

The warship didn't fare much better, tilting dangerously as it was battered by the waves. The Marines clung to the railings in panic.

The battle between the two sides was interrupted by the sudden threat from the deep sea. They all looked up at the chaos on the water, their faces filled with terror.

The deep-sea creature swam leisurely, its eyes glinting with a cold light as it gazed at the frozen sea. Its presence made the entire ocean feel even more perilous and mysterious.
