The morning sun filtered through the windows of Krishna Deva Raya's study as he sat at his ornate wooden desk, scanning through reports. The progress of Vijayanagara's economy was remarkable, but he knew there was still much work to do.
He took a deep breath and leaned back in his chair, his fingers lightly drumming on the armrest. What's next? He thought.
His eyes moved across the neatly organized papers in front of him.
✔ Pharmaceutical Industry – Oasis Pharmaceuticals was already a major player, dominating the market with its revolutionary weight-loss drug. The global agency auction had raked in billions of dollars, and the company was poised to launch more groundbreaking drugs in the coming years.
✔ Entertainment Industry – The film industry under Dream Chaser Studios was thriving, producing blockbuster movies that brought fame and fortune to Vijayanagara.
But what other industries could bring prosperity without triggering economic sanctions from the United States and Europe? He had to tread carefully.
Krishna Deva Raya's gaze sharpened. Batteries.
Yes, the battery industry had a promising future. The world was gradually shifting towards electric vehicles and renewable energy storage solutions. The demand for high-performance batteries would only skyrocket in the next decade.
He suddenly remembered—he had purchased a new type of battery technology from the system's store a while back. It was time to recruit top-tier engineers and researchers to develop this technology and turn it into a thriving industry.
Not only would it generate massive profits, but it would also create tens of thousands of jobs for the people.
Batteries must be made.
Krishna picked up his pen and checked the box next to "Battery Industry."
As he contemplated the list, another thought struck him.
✔ Agriculture.
He smirked.
He had completely forgotten about the Magic Gene Pesticide Formula he had bought from the system's discount mall. This pesticide would revolutionize Vijayanagara's agricultural sector, significantly increasing crop yields and boosting farmers' incomes.
And who was the largest landowner in the empire?
The Royal Family.
With vast tracts of fertile land under their control, introducing this pesticide would transform Vijayanagara into a net food-exporting nation within a few years. The empire would no longer need to rely on foreign food imports.
He quickly scribbled down:
✔ Oasis Agricultural Development Co. Ltd. – Focus: Genetically enhanced pesticides and high-yield tropical crops.
His mind raced to another crucial industry:
✔ Drones.
Semiconductors were a risky business—one that would invite unnecessary attention and possible sanctions from the West. The United States and Europe had always been wary of emerging economies trying to challenge their dominance in this field.
He knew what happened when certain countries were hit with sanctions in his previous life—their economies plummeted overnight. Vijayanagara could not afford such a setback.
However, civilian drones?
That was a completely different story.
The drone industry was still in its infancy, and even if they mass-produced drones, it wouldn't provoke any significant backlash. On the contrary, partnering with American chipmakers for drone development would actually be welcomed by the global market.
✔ Oasis Technology – Focus: Civilian drones, AI integration, and automation.
Krishna's eyes suddenly lit up.
The Medical Beauty Industry.
He almost smacked his forehead. How could he have overlooked this?
South Korea had built an entire economy around cosmetic surgery and beauty treatments, generating nearly $100 billion annually at its peak. Millions of tourists flocked to South Korea every year for medical procedures, inadvertently boosting the country's tourism sector.
If Vijayanagara followed the same model, it could not only dominate the medical beauty industry but also significantly increase tourism revenue.
✔ Oasis Plastic Surgery Hospital Company – Focus: High-end medical beauty treatments and cosmetic surgery.
This would be a game changer.
His list was nearly complete.
He read it over one last time:
✔ Petrochemicals
✔ Pharmaceuticals
✔ Medical Beauty
✔ Batteries
✔ Entertainment
✔ Tourism
✔ Technology (Drones & AI)
✔ Agriculture (Genetically Enhanced Pesticides and High-Yield Crops)
These eight major industries would be the pillars of Vijayanagara's economic transformation.
As for the military industry, Krishna Deva Raya had no plans to commercialize it.
The global arms trade wasn't about weapons—it was about geopolitics.
Countries didn't just buy weapons; they bought alliances, security pacts, and economic privileges. Vijayanagara wasn't yet powerful enough to challenge the military-industrial giants.
Yes, the empire had nuclear weapons.
But nuclear weapons alone didn't make a country truly powerful.
A strong nation required a robust economy, technological self-sufficiency, and a thriving domestic market.
For now, Vijayanagara's military focus would remain on self-reliance, not global sales.

Krishna Deva Raya called Priya into his office.
"Write this down," he instructed.
Priya nodded, pulling out a notepad and pen.
"First," Krishna began, "establish the Oasis Plastic Surgery Hospital Company. Build four hospitals under the Oasis Group banner in Vellore, the capital."
Priya's pen moved swiftly.
Krishna continued, "Each hospital must have at least 3,000 beds. Consult the Ministry of Health and model it after the Vellore City Hospital for infrastructure standards."
Vellore City Hospital was the largest public hospital under the Royal Family's Royal Investment Bureau. Its resources and influence would ensure the success of this venture.
"Second," Krishna said, "register the following companies immediately:
✔ Oasis Technology
✔ Oasis Batteries
✔ Oasis Agricultural Development Co. Ltd.
✔ Oasis Automobiles
After that, consolidate Dream Chaser Studios, Oasis Capital, Oasis Mining, Oasis Aircraft Manufacturing, and Oasis Plastic Surgery Hospitals under the Oasis Group umbrella."
Priya scribbled furiously.
"Third," Krishna continued, "invest in building an industrial park in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. The total planned area should be 30 square kilometers."
He glanced at Priya. "Make sure the local authorities understand that this park will employ at least 100,000 workers. I'll personally oversee the investment and construction plans."
The location was strategic—less than 80 km from both a major port and an airport.
If development was concentrated only in Vijayanagara's capital and nearby states, economic imbalance would become a problem. This industrial park would drive regional economic growth.
Just as Krishna was finishing, his phone rang.
It was Ramesh Shaw, CEO of Oasis Mining.
"Your Highness," Ramesh's voice crackled with excitement, "we've struck gold—literally. Our team has discovered a massive gold deposit in the Kolar Gold Fields, Karnataka. The estimated reserves are around 10,000 tons of high-purity gold. And the veins are shallow—less than five meters deep."
Krishna's fingers tightened around the phone.
10,000 tons?
That was only half the actual amount. The system had already informed him that the real reserves were 19,200 tons.
This discovery could redefine Vijayanagara's financial stability.
"Listen carefully," Krishna said in a calm but firm tone. "To the public, announce that we have discovered only 1,800 tons of gold."
Ramesh hesitated. "But, Your Highness—"
"No 'but,'" Krishna interrupted. "Mining starts immediately, and all gold must be sold exclusively to the Royal Bank of Vijayanagara. No exports, no external sales."
Gold reserves meant economic resilience. If sanctions ever came, Vijayanagara's currency would be protected.
A slow smile spread across Krishna Deva Raya's face.
The foundation of Vijayanagara's future was now set.
