Naori asked, "Do you feel confident about this afternoon's sparring matches? The ninja from the other villages are all much older than you!"
Torifū playfully replied to Naori, "It'll be a piece of cake."
Naori made a face at Torifū, "Hmph, bragging again."
"Well, if you don't believe me, that's fine. You'll see this afternoon anyway."
But honestly, the afternoon's sparring matches probably wouldn't be very interesting. The other four were the villages' groomed Second Kage or successors; they might not use their true strength or tactics in the matches. At most, they would be exhibition matches, showing little.
However, the Kage might be able to deduce some things from them. If no one was going to use their real skills, Torifū would naturally take it easy, using only the most basic ninjutsu. Still, his opponents were all battle-hardened ninja, with far more combat experience than him. He still needed to be cautious, or he might mess up.
"Then you better do your best this afternoon and bring honor to the village!" Naori was very excited, as if she were the one going to spar.
Torifū smiled, "I don't have any missions this morning, so I'm quite free."
"How about you? Do you have any missions this morning?"
Naori smiled sweetly, "Hehe, this morning's mission is to show the other Kage around Konoha Village, but they don't need me, so I'm resting."
Torifū nodded. This kind of mission truly wasn't suitable for Naori, mainly because she was too young. It could easily make people feel she wasn't steady, so older ninja were usually chosen for such tasks. Kagami was among them, having been called to the Hokage's office early in the morning for mission assignments. After Naori woke up, she felt bored at home, so she went out for a stroll.
"So, any plans for the morning? Want to go for some yakiniku?"
At the mention of yakiniku, Naori immediately agreed, "I want to go!" Yakiniku was truly Naori's favorite, and following Hashirama's training allowed her to control her figure and not get fat. So Naori became even more unrestrained; whenever Torifū mentioned yakiniku, she'd agree without a second thought.
"We've been so busy lately, we haven't been to that shop. I heard the owner tore down the building and rebuilt it."
"Oh, I didn't know that. I only care about their meat; I don't really care about him, as long as his shop doesn't close down."
The two wandered around Konoha Village several times, even chatting for a long time with Hiruzen, who was disguised as a civilian. But Torifū thought, whoever came up with this so-called civilian disguise idea, it was completely useless. Hiruzen had talked with Reto for a long time in Sunagakure; even if Reto didn't remember him, he'd at least recognize his face. Disguising himself as an ordinary villager was a bit too careless. But since it was an order, Torifū didn't plan to say anything; after all, if it exists, it must be reasonable.
At noon, Torifū and Naori arrived together at Akimichi Yakiniku.
"Oh my, you two are here! I've specially reserved a private room for you, please come in quickly!"
The owner was as enthusiastic as ever, and the entire yakiniku restaurant had indeed undergone a massive transformation. From a small bungalow, it had now become a two-story building. Actually, even if Torifū and Naori came every day, the owner couldn't have gotten rich to this extent. It was mainly due to Torifū and Naori's celebrity effect; a shop frequently visited by the Hokage's disciples certainly wouldn't be bad.
"You two haven't been here for a long time. Have you gotten tired of yakiniku?"
Naori waved her hands repeatedly, "No, no, no. We've just had more missions recently, that's why we haven't come."
Hearing Naori's words, the owner relaxed. As long as Torifū and Naori were still regulars, the yakiniku restaurant could continue to operate. After the two followed the owner upstairs, the owner immediately ordered thirty-plus plates of meat, all of which Torifū and Naori frequently ate. They were regular customers, and the owner had already memorized their preferences, allowing him to provide more comfortable service.
After the dishes were served, the owner discreetly left the room. Torifū and Naori began to enjoy their meal. After a flurry of eating, the thirty-plus plates of meat were completely devoured.
"Ah, I'm on a diet recently, so I'll just eat until I'm eight-tenths full."
Torifū was momentarily speechless. If the guests outside heard this, their jaws would surely drop. Plates of yakiniku were being sent into the private room like flowing water, yet she claimed to have only eaten until she was eight-tenths full? If she wanted to eat her fill, she'd probably have to eat an entire person!
"Whatever makes you happy..."
"Hehe, oh, what time were your sparring matches again?"
Torifū realized he couldn't quite remember either, but it should be around the same time as yesterday. After all, how long could a sparring match take? The fastest ones could be decided in an instant.
"I forgot too. Let's keep an eye on it." Torifū exhaled. A few cloud birds flew out the window, circling within Konoha Village, observing all movements.
"Sensei was really happy last night. Tobirama-sama said that Sensei drank until he was completely drunk last night!"
"It was only this morning that his wife gave him a bowl of hangover medicine and he got better."
Naori must have heard this from Kagami, but Torifū could understand. After all, Hashirama's lifelong pursuit was peace. Now that he had achieved it, how could he not be happy? Although the current peace wasn't very stable, it was still a small step forward. It could give the entire Ninja World an opportunity to develop, preventing endless wars from causing widespread suffering.
After they had eaten their fill, the two chatted in the private room until the cloud birds reported that there was activity. Only then did Torifū and Naori set off for the Konoha Village training ground. Torifū was participating in the sparring, while Naori was there to show support and observe the battles. After all, this was also a rare opportunity.
When the two arrived at the training ground, they found Hiruzen, Danzō, Koharu, Homura, and others already there. Tobirama was standing nearby, seemingly saying something.
"Torifū is here!" Hashirama reached out and ruffled Torifū's head. The two chatted for a while. The main topic was that only Torifū would be participating in the upcoming sparring matches. Hashirama had actually wanted Hiruzen to participate, but Tobirama had refused, citing it as improper etiquette. There was no other way but for Torifū to personally step into the arena. As his teacher, Hashirama knew Torifū's strength, so he wasn't worried. However, the ninja from the other villages were not to be trifled with either.
"If you get seriously injured, stop the sparring immediately. Don't force yourself, or it might leave lasting damage."
Torifū nodded, though he didn't believe he would be defeated by them. Torifū's current strength was roughly at the quasi-Kage level. He hadn't become a true Kage-level ninja mainly because his taijutsu was too weak. This aspect had improved significantly through Hashirama's training.
Just as Hashirama and Torifū were chatting, Uchiha Kagami arrived at the training ground with the Kazekage.
