Torifū didn't understand the mindset of a 'sis-con,' so he decided not to persuade Kagami further. If Kagami went home and whispered something to Naori, that could really cause trouble. If Naori came looking for him later to demand an explanation, it wouldn't be worth it.
One Kage had left, four more to go. Once they all departed, the chaos event should end, and another batch of Peace Points would be accumulated. This summit event provided a lot of Peace Points; just unlocking the character illustrations in the registery alone amounted to almost ten thousand Peace Points.
Kagami noticed Torifū deep in thought and waved a hand in front of his eyes. "Hey, Torifū, what are you thinking about?"
"Oh... nothing. I was just thinking it might be years before I see the Kazekage again."
Kagami smiled and said casually, "Why think about that? Whenever we meet again, as long as it's not on the battlefield, that's what matters." Torifū nodded; Kagami had a point.
Since the Kazekage had already left, there was no need for them to stand foolishly at the main gate. Kagami then asked, "Do you have anything to do later?"
"No, why?"
Kagami and Torifū had known each other for over a year, fighting side-by-side countless times. Their relationship was excellent, so Kagami didn't beat around the bush; he was direct. "I was thinking, if you're free, why don't you stay and help me see off the other Kage?"
"It would make things much easier for me if you were here."
Torifū agreed without hesitation; he was truly too idle, just wandering around by himself. Now he could both pass the time and help Kagami, as well as have close interactions with the Kage. It was a win-win-win situation, you could say.
"Of course, I'm completely free."
Kagami's smile became even brighter. "Great! With your help, I'll be much more relaxed." Then, the two returned to the village.
"Sensei, is the Hokage's promise reliable? Can we really get a piece of arable land?" In the returning entourage, Shamon followed beside Reto, a step behind.
"The Hokage's character can be trusted. Otherwise, so many powerful clans wouldn't have chosen to follow him." Reto deeply respected Hashirama himself. He believed that Hashirama couldn't have achieved such accomplishments through strength alone.
Konoha Village had numerous clans, and without a central figure that everyone wholeheartedly respected, it would slowly crumble. And from the scene of Konoha villagers seeing him off earlier, it was evident that the villagers in Konoha Village generally lived prosperous and carefree lives. Compared to Sunagakure, it was like heaven and hell.
However, Reto wasn't disdainful of Sunagakure's barrenness, nor did he feel his talents were wasted. This time, Sunagakure had obtained a piece of arable land from the Hokage's promise. Reto could already envision a future where Sunagakure's people could live like those in Konoha Village.
'I hope I live to witness that day.'
Reto's body had long been riddled with illness due to overwork, and his condition was worsening day by day. He told no one, simply dedicating his life to Sunagakure. In his view, Sunagakure would continue to operate normally without him, because he had already trained qualified successors.
Although their strength was still somewhat lacking, if that jutsu was developed, everything would be fine. It was just a pity that his son was still young; he wondered if he would live to see him grow up.
'Chiyo, little Suna, I'll be back soon.'
Back with Torifū, after seeing off the Kazekage Reto and his group, the Raikage's group also prepared to depart. Kumogakure was still somewhat far from Konoha Village, so their departure now was normal. Torifū's attitude towards the Raikage was completely different from his attitude towards the Kazekage. After all, few people from Kumogakure were truly good; they were all troublemakers and warmongers. And each of them was incredibly arrogant, which made Torifū particularly dislike Kumogakure.
However, Torifū didn't overtly show it, still following protocol to escort the Raikage's group out of Konoha. But during this time, Torifū didn't say a word, just walked alongside them. Kagami also felt somewhat similar to Torifū, so he spoke little as well. This resulted in an almost completely silent and very quiet journey from the residence to the Konoha Village gate. Only the unaware crowd lining the roads waved flags and cheered.
"Raikage-sama, safe travels. We look forward to your next visit to Konoha."
The Raikage gave a cold response, then led his group and turned to leave. As he departed, A even gave Torifū a cold snort, but Torifū paid no attention to such childish behavior.
"Ahahaha, I have a feeling I can finally rest the day after tomorrow."
"...Well, congratulations on that."
Torifū couldn't quite grasp Tobirama's assigned task. Hiruzen and the others had been cosplaying as civilians on the streets for so many days. They were practically just coasting. A considerable number of ninja were dispatched to participate, yet for a crucial task like Kagami's, only a small handful of inexperienced ninja were assigned.
This forced Kagami to personally verify everything, leading to his current exhaustion. Perhaps Tobirama was training Kagami, perhaps even intending him to be his secretary. After all, among his six disciples, Kagami was the most meticulous. Danzō was merely calm-headed, accustomed to analyzing things before acting. Such a person was indeed suitable for military roles. But if you asked why he didn't analyze when he stabbed Susanoo with a kunai, then I choose not to comment.
"It's already noon. The Mizukage and Tsuchikage probably won't be leaving today, so we can rest for half a day!" Kagami's words held some excitement, mixed with fatigue, making one feel a little sorry for him.
"Are you alright? Should I call Naori to pick you up?"
Kagami waved his hand. "This is nothing. I still have strength; the fatigue is only mental."
"Alright then. In that case, be careful on your way."
Kagami acknowledged, then said goodbye to Torifū and went home to rest. Torifū looked at the sun in the sky and decided to go home for lunch. It was then that he spotted Hiruzen and Koharu, who were still cosplaying as civilians. He walked up and greeted them.
To his surprise, Hiruzen pretended not to recognize him and told him to leave quickly. Torifū immediately felt very helpless, not expecting these 'civilians' to be so dedicated. However, Torifū had been the Hokage's disciple for over a year now; how could there still be villagers who didn't recognize him? Torifū complained silently as he walked in circles around Hiruzen, again and again. Eventually, Hiruzen got so annoyed that he stopped his act.
"Stop, stop! I'm getting dizzy!"
