Chapter 8

"Relax Havana it's me. I heard everything" Skylar said, "I bet this kid haven't been living a normal lifestyle…sad"

"Why don't we go out tomorrow with her, show her what a normal kid does. I don't think she'll want to go back to her dad anytime soon so that means she'll be staying with us" Havana suggested and Skylar nodded in affirmation.

Melanie woke up between Havana and Skylar, smiling, she hugged Havana from behind. "Good morning to you too Melanie" Havana responded, taking Melanie's gestures as a greeting. Melanie removed her hand immediately and began to apologize "I'm so sorry, I didn't know you were awake"

"It's okay, you can hug me whenever you like" Havana said and stood up from the bed, then she gave Melanie a big hug and left to perform her morning chores.

"Skylar, Skylar the offer that the Linux limited gave me still stands. You know, the assistant secretary job" Havana said excitedly and Skylar screamed in response.

"Thank heavens. Goodbye to this bad luck city, wait a minute, what about me? My job…."Skylar said.

"Um….you told me you don't have a job"

"Yeah but I run some few errands and work shifts in a restaurant. How would we survive if we relocate?"

"I've gotten a job around there remember and we'll work something out" Havana said and joined Melanie in carrying goods into the moving van.

"Melanie, have you ever gone to an amusement park?" Havana asked.

"There are parks for amusement?" Melanie questioned back. Havana smiled, sighed and shook her head.

Soon enough Havana, Skylar and Melanie arrived at the city's amusement park. It wasn't among the best but it was enough to give Melanie that joyride experience and at the same time spend less money. Melanie looked around, curious but tried not to show it. She saw kids with their parents and looking at Skylar on the right with Havana who held her hand, she walked with pride as though saying "I've got parents too".

"Melanie, would you want an ice cream?" Havana asked. Melanie didn't know how an ice cream tasted and she was thought not to eat anything she had never tasted before by her father but looking at the expectant faces of the vendor and Havana, she proceeded to have one. "How is it?" Skylar asked. Melanie took her first bite and she felt as though her soul went to heaven. The vanilla flavor with the sour sweet sprinkles caused her to be all jittery, making her want to dance. The ecstasy soon ended and Melanie wanted another but she couldn't just ask for it because according to her Dad 'don't ask for things it's make you look stupid'

"It's nice" Melanie shrugged in response to Skylar's question. Skylar thought Melanie was not impressed and dragged them towards a game house. At the game house there were different sections according to age and all the games for ages 8-11 looked babyish for Melanie and she couldn't tell them but she kept stealing glances at the 12-15 section which finally caught Havana's attention. "Melanie, if you want something you can ask." Havana said. Melanie turned to her and after few minutes of self-motivation she asked if they could go to the other section. "Sure, I don't see why not" Skylar responded and Havana nodded in confirmation. Melanie breathed a sigh of relief as she was not snubbed or rejected.

The trio bonded nicely at the park. They visited some places before settling down to eat at a restaurant. Melanie who was earlier reserved became the chatterbox and wouldn't stop talking.

"Aunt Skylar you could've seen Aunt Anna's face at the haunted house when that spider creeped out. It was legendary!" Melanie giggled as they took their seats and Skylar joined her in laughing. "Spiders are dangerous creatures" Havana defended. Melanie took a whole new personality at the park, she called Havana and Skylar her aunties because many kids called their guardians with them 'Auntie and Uncle' and she didn't want to be the odd one. Havana was happy that Melanie was able to come out of her shell and she hoped the moment would be shared by them til they part.

"You guys know much about me but i don't know anything about you" Melanie said. 

"Well there's nothing much to know about me. I lost my mum at a very young age amd my dad got missing two months after my graduation" Havana explained

"So you didn't go to college?" 

"I finished college at a young age. I entered when i was 16 years, they let me in cause i was so brilliant"

"Yeah, yeah you don't have to brag about it" Skylar said

"I also had a stepmother but she used me and ran away with all my dad's money in his will" Havana sighed. 

"What about you Aunt Skylar!" Melanie asked.

"My life is a peaceful one, No dramas. I'm still in college this year I'll be done. My parents are gay, they used surrogacy to give birth to me" Skylar explained, "Wierd right! And now they want me to marry my own gender"

"I don't think it is wierd. If i were to call something wierd it would be like what i saw on a mission i went for. These women are identical, they claimed to be in love and married each other" Melanie said. Havana and Skylar gave each other looks of unbelief and then started giggling. "I'm serious" Melanie said admist giggles.

As they all laughed, they forgot to take note of their surroundings and that didn't know someone was watching them. After eating, they left for the roller caster. "After this ride we'll leave so we can make it to our new house on time" Havana said. 

"But i want to ride the ferris wheel" Melanie whined. "Ok after the ferris wheel ride, we'll leave" Havana said. The trio joined the line for the roller coaster and just after three persons behind them was the man who was watching them. Melanie turned around as she felt someone's piercing gaze on her and her eyes widened in shock and fear. It was at this moment they were guided to the coaster by the ride attendnts and Melanie braethed a sigh of relief. 

During the ride, the three of them were screaming for joy and for the fear of falling, Melanie casually looked back and saw the man in another roller coaster behind them. "Aaah!" Melanie screamed. "What is it?" Skylar asked. "The man behind, he's following us" Melanie said. Havana and Skylar turned back to look, the man behind them looked normal and they didn't believe her but didn't show it. After the ride they made their way to the ferris wheel. In the line, Skylar casually looked back and said to Havana (Skylar was in front of Havana) "Holy molly Havana, that man from the roller coaster is in this line". Havana turned and saw the man, She signalled Skylar and Melanie and the trio left the line. As they left the man also left the line and was right behind them. Melanie started running, Skylar and Havana followed. As they ran, they looked back and the man kept following them. People around them gave them strange glances but they didn't care and finally made their way out of the Park.

"Who was that creep?" Skylar asked.

"He's a member of my dad's Mafia" Melanie responded.

"That was insane!" Havana said out of breath. The security official, thinking they were running cause they stole something called out to them "Hey, stop there!". The Trio continued their race

Meanwhile...

"Babe! There you are. Are you leaving....without me!" A woman came to the man who was chasing Havana, Skylar and Melanie earlier. 

"No i just saw..."The man said and pointed to the gaate.

"You saw who?"

"Nevermind...."He said and pulled out his phone "Mr Marcelo" He started and walked away from his wife.
