Chapter 108: A Smooth Journey

Chapter 108: A Smooth Journey

Several days had passed since the Riding Wind set sail.

At first, the scenery of the vast ocean was refreshing, but after days of seeing nothing but endless waves, even the most beautiful sights grew monotonous. To pass the time, Neptune spent most of his days meditating in his cabin, occasionally stepping out for fresh air. His main consciousness remained focused on his real body, while his clone trained passively, as if on autopilot.

According to the captain's calculations, if there were no unexpected events, they would reach their destination in just over a month.

It wasn't the fastest journey, but it was acceptable.

As for unexpected events?

The main dangers of ocean travel included natural disasters like tsunamis, storms, or tornadoes, as well as threats from sea soul beasts or pirates. While Neptune couldn't control the weather (yet), he was more than capable of ensuring the ship's survival against any storm.

Encounters with sea soul beasts were unlikely, as commercial vessels followed safe, pre charted routes specifically designed to avoid areas inhabited by aggressive creatures. Unless the captain intentionally steered into dangerous waters, attacks were highly improbable.

As for pirates?

That was even less of a concern.

If any pirate ship dared to approach, they only needed to announce whose ship this was and the pirates would flee in terror.

No pirate in their right mind would rob the future Sea God.

And so, the Riding Wind sailed smoothly, without incident.

After one and a half months, they finally approached their destination.

"Your Excellency, this is as far as we can take you."

On the deck, the captain spoke apologetically.

"Beyond this point, we enter Sea God Island's territory. Any ship that crosses into these waters will be attacked by the island's guardian spirit beasts the 100,000 year Demon Spirit Great White Sharks mentioned in the Q&A video."

"No worries," Neptune replied calmly, gazing at the distant silhouette of Sea God Island on the horizon. "I can fly the rest of the way myself."

Without hesitation, he ascended into the air, soaring toward the island.

The captain and crew watched his figure disappear into the distance, their expressions filled with both awe and longing…

Neptune glided above the ocean, hovering about ten meters above the surface.

A layer of blue energy surrounded him, seamlessly merging his aura with the sea.

This meant that unless someone saw him directly, he was completely undetectable even to soul beasts that relied on aura perception.

As he approached Sea God Island, he occasionally spotted Demon Spirit Great White Sharks swimming below. However, since their hunting instincts relied on sensing disturbances in the water, they completely ignored Neptune, whose presence was indistinguishable from the surrounding ocean.

At a glance, Neptune estimated that at least several hundred sharks patrolled these waters, forming a natural barrier that prevented any unauthorized ships from approaching the island.

Finally, he arrived.

Descending gently, his feet touched the soft sands of the beach.

The moment he stepped onto the island, he immediately noticed the difference.

The first sensation was warmth a pleasant spring like warmth.

Looking around, the entire island was lush with greenery, overflowing with vibrant life.

The island was massive, stretching beyond the visible horizon. Towering trees and exotic plants filled the landscape many of which he couldn't even name.

The air was fresh, carrying the invigorating scent of the sea, mixed with a hint of something ancient and mystical. In the distance, the wind carried the whispers of the ocean.

Neptune's sharp senses told him that this island was uniquely positioned almost at the very center of the ocean itself.

If one were to use the right tools here, they could spread their influence across the entire sea with ease.

Additionally, the eternal spring like climate was undoubtedly linked to the island's special location.

"Heh… The Sea God sure knew how to pick a place," Neptune muttered.

Although the video had given him some idea of Sea God Island's beauty, being here in person was an entirely different experience.

The sky was an endless blue vast, pure, and transparent.

The beach shimmered under the sunlight, its sand as fine as crushed crystal, reflecting a gentle silver glow.

The first thing anyone would feel upon arriving here was tranquility a perfect harmony of sea, sky, and land.

Seagulls soared overhead, their cries blending into the rhythmic sound of waves lapping the shore.

The scene was breathtaking.

After taking a moment to admire the beauty, Neptune remembered his purpose and began walking deeper into the island.

He had only taken a few steps when

"Who goes there?!"

A voice filled with surprise and caution rang out from the nearby forest.

A group of figures suddenly emerged from the trees, blocking Neptune's path.

They were dressed in yellow robes the same patrol soul masters that had appeared in the future video.

The moment they laid eyes on him, their expressions shifted dramatically.

Thanks to the Q&A spoiler video, they already knew who he was.

The future Sea God.

Their faith incarnate.

Even though he hadn't ascended yet, the fact that he was destined to become the Sea God left them completely unsure how to react.

Should they treat him as a guest?

Or worship him as a god?

Faced with their stunned silence, Neptune showed no surprise. He simply stated, "I am here to take the Sea God's trials."

There was no need for deception or secrecy.

"Please, this way."

The patrol leader's expression changed, but his attitude immediately became respectful.

Without hesitation, they cleared a path subconsciously treating him as their master already.

Following their lead, Neptune arrived at the Sea Witch's Sacred Pillar just like in the video.

Near the pillar's edge, a young woman sat, playing in the water.

She had a massive fish tail, its smooth, elegant curves extending up to her waist.

Her luminous blue eyes shone brilliantly not like the deep ocean, but more like the clear sky.

Her exquisite beauty was undeniable, and her lips carried a perpetual, gentle smile.

Dressed in a simple black top that didn't even cover her navel, she sat at the water's edge, playfully slapping the surface with her tail, clearly enjoying herself.

She was the Sea Witch, the guardian of this Sacred Pillar.

'A mermaid, huh? This is my first time seeing one in real life.'

Neptune couldn't help but stare for a moment not out of admiration, but out of curiosity.

After all, "beast girls" were a rare sight.

Being intrigued was only natural.
