Chapter 86: Eyesight.
OKAY. TIME FOR his royal to teach him. He was ready to learn. Nigel nodded, and then he sniffed, flaring out his sense tentacle, instinctively scanning for dangers. He closed his eyes, focusing to make sure they were alright.
“No dangers here, Professor.”
Nigel caught the rich aroma of the plants and the earthy whiff of damp stones. His sense tentacle picked up everything from the faintest rustle of bugs to the subtle shift of the wind.
“Concentrate in my mind. Follow me, and I’ll teach you.”
Nigel waited, then felt a subtle, internal movement in his head. He caught the notion, the exact impulse, of adjusting his vision so that he only took in the amount of light he wanted.
“Open your eyes, Nigel,” Pete murmured. “We will start with my fountain.”
