Jungkook had barely managed to calm himself after the long and frustrating morning. He was still annoyed at Taehyung's sudden departure from work, and his mind was plagued with thoughts of where the mafia king was heading. He knew Taehyung wasn't the type to explain things easily, but still, something about this abrupt departure unsettled him.
As he stepped into his apartment, exhaustion washed over him. He didn't even bother turning on the lights, only tossing his coat onto the couch before heading to the kitchen for a glass of water. Just as he brought the cold glass to his lips, a familiar scent filled the air, causing him to freeze mid-action.
It was musky, intoxicating, and undeniably Taehyung.
Jungkook whipped around, his heart pounding against his ribs, and sure enough, there he was.
Kim Taehyung sat on Jungkook's couch, legs crossed casually, one arm draped over the backrest while the other twirled a dagger between his fingers like it was a mere toy. His dark eyes glinted with amusement as he took in Jungkook's stunned expression.
"Took you long enough," Taehyung drawled lazily, his deep voice sending shivers down Jungkook's spine.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Jungkook snapped, placing his glass down with a thud. He was still adjusting to the fact that Taehyung had just waltzed into his personal space uninvited.
"Visiting," Taehyung replied smoothly. "You left in such a hurry this morning. I didn't get to properly bid you farewell."
Jungkook scoffed, crossing his arms. "Oh, so now you're saying goodbye properly? You're just going to disappear for months without telling me where?"
Taehyung tilted his head, studying him with a knowing smirk. "Did you miss me already, bunny?"
Jungkook clenched his jaw. He hated how Taehyung always had the upper hand, how he always managed to get under his skin so easily. "Answer me. Where are you going? And why are you suddenly leaving everything behind?"
Taehyung sighed, setting the dagger down on the table before leaning forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "There are things I need to take care of. Things bigger than you and me. Bigger than this human empire I built."
Jungkook narrowed his eyes. "So, what? You expect me to just sit here and wait for you like a fool?"
Taehyung's smirk grew wider as he suddenly grabbed Jungkook's wrist and yanked him forward, making him stumble onto the couch. Before Jungkook could react, Taehyung was on top of him, pinning him down, his hands gripping Jungkook's wrists above his head.
"What if I told you I want you to wait?" Taehyung murmured, his lips hovering just inches from Jungkook's. "Would you do it, bunny? Or would you chase after me like a desperate little thing?"
Jungkook's breath hitched. His body betrayed him as warmth spread through his chest, his skin tingling under Taehyung's touch. "Get off me, Taehyung."
Taehyung chuckled darkly. "Not yet."
Without warning, he crashed his lips onto Jungkook's, kissing him forcefully. Jungkook's muffled protests were swallowed by the heat of Taehyung's mouth, his tongue invading without hesitation. The dominance, the roughness—it made Jungkook's head spin. He tried to resist, but his traitorous body responded, his fingers curling against Taehyung's grip.
Taehyung finally pulled back, smirking at Jungkook's dazed expression. "Cute," he teased, trailing his fingers along Jungkook's swollen lips. "You act all tough, but your body says otherwise."
Jungkook growled, pushing against him, but Taehyung only laughed, releasing him and standing up. "Don't pout too much, baby. It's sexy, but I need you to behave."
Jungkook shot him a glare, his lips parted as he tried to catch his breath. "You're an asshole."
Taehyung chuckled, making his way toward the door. "And yet, you can't get enough of me."
Jungkook felt frustration boiling inside him. His hands clenched into fists as he watched Taehyung's retreating figure. His thoughts were a mess. He didn't know how to stop him. Taehyung still didn't remember anything. Their pack people were dying, and he was unable to do anything about it.
As the door clicked shut behind Taehyung, Jungkook collapsed back onto the couch, staring at the ceiling. His breathing was uneven, his mind racing with thoughts he couldn't silence.
He thought long and hard, and finally, he came to a conclusion.
He needed to do something drastic.
Something that would make Taehyung stay—something that would force him to remember everything.
Damn him.
"....... meet me in the office tomorrow with all those things"
