Chapter 13

The second problem is the demon community called Horus. The last Devasur-Sangram took place between the gods and these demons three hundred years ago. As a result of the defeat in that great war, Horus were sent to Patalganga, and the gods had to leave their Devnagari Arthala, due to which the Dhata dynasty was established in Arthala.

For the last few years, there have been misconceptions that Horus will return to Jambudweep after gathering their strength. If Horus returns for the purpose of War, then neither life nor culture will survive in Jambudweep. Arthala will have to face both these crises."

"But what is my role in all this?" Vidhan interrupted and asked.

Rupak looked into Vidhan's eyes and said, "Sir Vidhan, we need help of your earth bending "

"Earth bending? What does that mean?" Vidhan asked with a questioning look in his eyes.

Rupak looked at Vidhan with such an expression as if he had narrated such a long story to the wrong person. Controlling himself, he said, "We all saw you using Earth bending with our own eyes."

"When did you see it?"

"You crossed the eight-foot-wide canal in a single leap and also took a superhuman leap to attack the army chief Mahavira," Rupak explained.

"Oh! The Monkey jump." Vidhan said as if he understood.

"Whay. Monkey leap?" came out from the mouth of Roopak and Anuj simultaneously; both kept looking at each other's faces in surprise.

"Mr. Vidhana should not ridicule such a great power in this manner."

Vidhan: "I am telling the truth; I did not make fun of anyone. I have learned this art from my guru; he had forbidden me from demonstrating it to anyone else. My life was in danger, so I had to do it.

Everyone remained silent for a few moments. Rupak looked towards Mahavira; he made some kind of gesture.Vidhan found this very strange. He had not heard a single word from Mahavira's mouth till now. He guessed that he is probably a Mute.

"This power has been taught to you by the venerable Kaan; is it the absolute truth?" asked Rupaka as if he wanted an answer to some great mystery.

"Yes!" replied Vidhan flatly.

"What did he tell you about himself?

After remaining silent for a few moments, Vidhan said, "He had come to this village five years back; since then, I have been learning how to use weapons from him. Whenever I tried to know his history from him, he avoided it. After much persuasion, he agreed to tell his story at the time of Guru-dakshina(teachers fee), but on the day of Guru-dakshina, the sinful Sudas sent his soldiers and got him killed. Vidhan's anger rose while completing the story.

"This is all that I know about him; perhaps you know more than me, so please tell me about him.

"Three days ago, Kudar had sent a message to Arthala about you. On receiving the message, we immediately got into action. Kundar gave us the information collected by spies about you. On the way, we encountered the soldiers of Mundra. The leader of their army was Vasuki. He is very cunning and deceitful. We suspected that he was probably going with the intention of harming you. By using his clever tricks, he had led us astray and reached you before us. The same soldiers had attacked you with arrows. Luckily we reached on time. You will get to know the rest of the information and the history of respected Kaan when you reach Arthala."Rupak told him briefly.

Vidhan leaned forward a little and said, "Mr. Rupak. Most of the stories you told me went over my head. You people suddenly appeared and are asking me to come to Arthala. Apart from your introduction, I do not know anything about you people. Your behavior is very strange.you people are very friendly to me, but I have a lot of doubts in my mind."

Everyone remained quiet for a few moments, then Mahavira said. "Don't be afraid, son."

Vidhan heard the roar of a lion for the first time. His voice was thunderous, and he loved being called his son.

"Didn't Kaan teach you history?" asked Mahavira.

"No. He emphasized more on weapons and moral education.

"Son, we have brought a request from Arthala, not an order; you are free to take the decision.

Vidhan remained silent for a few moments, then asked, Why did Mundra's soldiers attack me? What enmity do they have with me?

"There is no animosity towards you, sir! Because you are beneficial to us so they targeted you".Rupak replied.

"In other words,The situation that is developing in Jambudweep is likely to lead to an early war. Arthala is making every possible effort to increase its military power. As part of that effort, Arthala wants you to help in creating new Earth bending warriors by imparting the knowledge of your Earth bending. We are gathering resources from every possible place, and Emperor Siddharth is trying to destroy our resources in every possible way. Apart from us, he has also come to know that you are valuable for Arthala; hence, he tried to destroy you.

Like the previous stories, this story also went beyond his understanding. But Vidhan made such facial expressions as if he understood the seriousness of the situation very well. He said,"But the crisis of Arthala is yours. Not mine; I am not even a resident of Arthala."

"Sir Vidhan, this crisis is of the entire Jambudweep. The day Arthala is destroyed, Kundar will also be destroyed on the same day. The day Kundaar is destroyed, how is it possible that your village and home will be safe?

Vidhan did not say anything, he was confused, whether he was being made aware of his duty or motivated to go to Arthala.
