Chapter 19: Wang Shuang Joins

Ji Qingwu didn't answer directly. Instead, she turned to Yue Zhong and asked, "Yue Zhong, why did you go and clear out the zombies trapped in the apartments?"

Everyone in the room also turned their attention to Yue Zhong.

Yue Zhong replied slowly, "I suspect these zombies might evolve. Right now, they're only at Level 1, but I don't think they'll stay that way forever. If they continue to evolve, they'll become even more dangerous."

If the zombies remained at their current level, humanity could easily eliminate them and rebuild order once people regained their footing.

Sun Yu, with a pale face, retorted, "That can't be, right? Aren't zombies in movies always like this? How could they possibly evolve?"

Sun Yu had seen the state of the world today. The streets were overrun with zombies, and there were very few living people left. If the zombies evolved further, it would become even harder for humanity to eliminate them and restore order.

Yue Zhong glanced at Sun Yu and said calmly, "I'm only making a hypothesis. It's not necessarily the truth."

Chen Yao suddenly interjected, asking worriedly, "Yue Zhong, are you planning to leave us?"

Wang Fang and the other girls immediately turned their gazes to Yue Zhong. They had all witnessed his strength, and without his protection, their future looked bleak.

Wang Fang sneered and mocked Sun Yu, "If your father is so great, why doesn't he send someone to rescue you?"

"Let's go, Sun Yu," Chen Gang shook his head, pulling Sun Yu along as he picked up two large bags of supplies and headed for the door. He didn't want to stay and make a fool of himself any longer.

Yue Zhong's mind stirred, and Bone took a step toward Sun Yu.

"Wait for me!" Sun Yu, terrified of the skeletal warrior wielding the giant bone axe, immediately grabbed two bags of supplies and fled the apartment.

After Chen Gang and Sun Yu left, Cai Xiao quickly went over and tightly locked the security door.

"Where do I sleep tonight?" Yue Zhong asked Chen Yao as soon as the door was closed.

"Follow me!" Chen Yao smiled softly and led Yue Zhong into the master bedroom of the apartment.

Upon entering, Yue Zhong saw a room filled with a faint fragrance, six or seven plush toys on the bed, neat and tidy, exuding a distinctly feminine atmosphere.

Chen Yao's eyes flashed with shyness as she said to Yue Zhong, "This will be your bedroom."

This was Chen Yao's bedroom, and it was the first time she had ever let a man into her room.

"Bone, stand guard. Don't let anyone enter this room," Yue Zhong issued the command before collapsing onto the large bed and immediately falling asleep. He was utterly exhausted from the day's events.

Chen Yao watched as Yue Zhong, still fully clothed, lay down on her clean, white bedsheets. For a moment, her slight sense of cleanliness made her unhappy. However, when she saw Bone, wielding its massive bone axe, approach, she wisely left the room.

Aside from Ji Qingwu, everyone in the apartment was afraid of Bone, the inhuman skeletal warrior.

At seven o'clock the next morning, Yue Zhong, lying on the bed, opened his eyes on time. He had always woken up at this hour every day to study and train.

"Sleep really is the most effective way to restore stamina," Yue Zhong thought as he checked his internal state. His stamina had fully recovered.

Yue Zhong opened the bedroom door and strode into the living room.

There, Wang Shuang was lying obediently on the sofa, still fast asleep.

"Wake up! I have something to say!" Yue Zhong immediately walked over to the other two rooms, knocking on the doors and speaking loudly.
