Title: Chronicles of Azure

Chronicles of Azure – Chapter 7: Thunderclash

---

Scene 1: Sparks in the Ruins

Rain began to fall through the shattered ceiling of the cavern above, pattering softly on stone and metal. The glow of the monolith flickered like a heartbeat behind them.

Kael stood face to face with Rai Kurogane, Aether Blades crackling with electric energy. Across from him, Rai held his blade Stormfang, lightning dancing along its edge.

Kael: "You lost last time, Rai. Want a rematch that bad?"

Rai: "Last time… I wasn't serious."

Without warning—Rai lunged.

Their blades clashed in a shower of sparks. Kael parried a heavy strike and countered, only for Rai to vanish in a blink, reappearing behind him with a crack of thunder.

Kael barely blocked the blow, the impact flinging him across the ground.

Iris joined the fight, firing her shock pistol with perfect aim. Rai deflected each shot with impossibly quick swings.

Rai: "You shouldn't be interfering, pirate."

Iris: "Yeah? Bite me, lightning boy."

Lyria stood trembling, still overwhelmed by the truth she had just learned. The ground near her warped subtly, small stones floating upward.

Scene 2: The Awakening

The monolith behind her began pulsing faster. A low hum grew louder, and the Guardian, previously still, raised its head.

Guardian (telepathically): "The Chosen must rise… or fall."

Lyria looked up, eyes glowing faintly. "Stop. All of you."

The energy around her exploded outward, pushing everyone back. Even Rai staggered.

Kael's eyes widened. "Lyria—what are you doing?"

The space around her shimmered as her feet lifted slightly off the ground. Time itself seemed to bend around her.

She raised her hand toward Rai.

Lyria: "I don't want to fight… but I won't let you take me."

A gravity pulse surged outward, flattening a squad of Enforcers and hurling debris into the air. Rai barely created a barrier of lightning in time to shield himself.

But when the dust settled, he was breathing heavily.

Rai: "So… you've begun to awaken."

He tapped a device on his wrist. A rift opened behind him— a recall portal.

Rai: "Next time, you won't get to choose."

He vanished in a flash of blue light. The rest of the Order withdrew.

Silence fell. The monolith dimmed.

Scene 3: The Broken Path

Later, around a small fire in the ruins, Kael, Iris, and Lyria sat—worn and quiet.

Iris: "Well, that was terrifying. You alright, floating girl?"

Lyria looked into the flames. "I remember more now. I was made… as a weapon. A key to some ancient energy they want to control."

Kael shook his head. "You're not a weapon. You're a person. Whatever they made you for, screw that. You decide what you are."

She gave a weak smile. "Thanks, Kael."

Guardian (faintly): "If she is to survive, she must seek the Skyspire."

The voice echoed from the monolith one last time before it finally faded to stone.

Kael stood. "Then I guess we've got a new destination."

Iris stretched. "Let me guess. Flying fortress? An

cient temple? Death traps?"

Kael grinned. "Hopefully all three."
