Chapter 35

"Fire Dragon's Roar!"

"Sky Dragon's Roar!"

A massive blaze shot out, instantly igniting the distant trees and burning them to ashes. At the same time, a huge storm pierced through the giant tree beside it.

"Nii-chan, Nii-chan, look! Isn't my magic stronger now?"

Wendy, excited about the destruction she caused, ran happily to Kei's side, proudly displaying her progress.

"My roar is stronger! I burned down that huge tree completely!"

Natsu ran over as well, shouting enthusiastically.

"Hmm, just a couple of weaklings pecking at each other."

Kei thought about it and gave his assessment: "Also, I've told you both many times, the way you're using Roar is wrong."

"Don't treat it as a magical casting technique. You should treat it as a method of breathing."

"Roar is also called Breath. You need to use the method of inhaling and exhaling to perform it. Hmm, you didn't understand what I said, right?"

Kei looked at the two blank faces.

"Uh-huh."

Wendy and Natsu nodded in unison, clearly not understanding the difference at all.

"Forget it, I'll demonstrate."

Kei took a deep breath, inhaling the air and converting it into energy within his body. The energy then transformed into flame and wind elements.

Combining the two elements, he released them all at once. A massive fiery tornado instantly destroyed the distant mountain peak.

"Fire and wind elements combined have greater power! The destructive force is stronger, and the energy consumption is much less!"

Recently, Kei had tried absorbing the Dragon Power from Natsu's body again, but it didn't work. It seemed like each type of dragon power could only be absorbed once.

After absorption, he could automatically learn the corresponding type of Dragon Power.

Moreover, this energy attribute wasn't limited to magic. It could also be applied to his Ripple techniques.

Now, his Ripple Holy Sword had both fire and wind attributes, making its power and cutting ability even stronger.

At this moment, both Igneel and Grandeeney, residing within Natsu and Wendy respectively, were utterly astonished.

"This kid is amazing! He actually managed to make his Roar as natural as breathing, turning it into an instinct!"

Igneel exclaimed. Such a technique could only be achieved by him, the Fire Dragon King. And yet, this was just a human kid!

"My child is awesome, right?"

"I told you, this child will definitely grow into a super powerful dragon in the future!"

Grandeeney continued to boast about her child. After all, trapped within Wendy's body, she had nothing better to do than constantly brag about Kei's strength to Igneel.

...

After training their Roars, Kei continued his daily patrol of his territory, searching for food for lunch along the way.

"Roar!"

"Dragon Roar is actually a very powerful magic. You can attack enemies with just your voice."

Kei demonstrated his Dragon Roar to Natsu. The ground below them immediately cracked from the sheer power of his roar.

"Amazing! I want to learn that!"

Natsu took a deep breath and tried his best to roar: "Aaaaahhh!"

"No, no, it should be like this. Awooo! Awooo!"

Wendy took a deep breath, channeling magic through her chest cavity. Although her cry was soft and cute, it actually carried a certain degree of destructive power.

At the very least, Natsu, being too close, felt dizzy from the shockwaves.

"You actually taught them that?"

Igneel couldn't believe his eyes. This technique wasn't even magic; it was just the natural roar of a dragon.

He had never thought about teaching such a thing to a human like Natsu.

"I didn't teach them. It's just that Kei has been imitating my roar during our time together, and eventually, he just learned it on his own."

"He's a genius, isn't he?"

Grandeeney was also amazed when she first heard Kei do it. But most of all, she was proud of how quickly he was growing.

"I've had enough of you! You brag about him every three sentences! He's just a brat, what's the big deal?"

"I could do that level of roar right after I was born!"

Igneel finally couldn't take it anymore and roared angrily.

"Your kid still can't do it. Mine can."

"Shut up!"

Right now, Igneel only wanted to get out, beat Natsu up, and personally teach him what a real dragon roar sounded like.

...

"Dragon Roar and Breath are similar. But one releases energy outward, while the other spreads energy as a vibration."

"Natsu, you can keep practicing. With time, you should be able to learn it."

Kei didn't have much teaching experience. When he first tried, he mastered it right away. He even felt like all you needed was a mouth to do it.

Something this simple didn't need special techniques. It was unnecessary.

"Got it."

Natsu felt frustrated. It was one thing to not be as good as Kei, but how could he even fall behind Wendy?!

He absolutely had to train harder, outwork them both, and surpass Wendy!

Meanwhile, Wendy thought to herself:

'Hmph, Natsu-nii is probably planning to secretly train and show off next time to surpass me. But that's impossible!'

'I've seen through your scheme. Tonight, I won't sleep! I'll stay up practicing Dragon Roar. There's no way you'll beat me!'

Kei looked at the two of them, clearly caught up in a childish rivalry, and shook his head quietly.

"Alright, now we'll practice Dragon Aura. This one doesn't require any special technique, just feel it for yourselves."

"If you can learn it, great. If not, that's fine too."

Kei stood still, and behind him, a phantom of a massive dragon's upper body emerged. The dragon roared furiously.

Natsu, hearing the dragon's roar, was instantly paralyzed with fear. Unlike the Dragon Roar, this was an attack infused with Kei's spirit and will.

Natsu felt as if he was about to be devoured alive. The overwhelming fear of death engulfed his entire body!

Wendy was also trembling in terror!

"Is that kid really human? How can he even learn Dragon Aura?!"

Igneel was even more shocked. Dragon Aura was a natural ability exclusive to dragons.

He had never seen a human master it. Not even Dragon Slayers could imitate such an ability. It was a racial talent, not something that could be replicated by magic.

"Proximity to greatness breeds greatness. Proximity to dragons breeds power!"

"I've been taking care of him, eating with him, living with him, sleeping with him. Of course, he would eventually learn it. That's perfectly normal, right?"

Grandeeney's "it's perfectly normal" logic came out again. After all, none of them had ever raised human children. Who knew what was normal or not?

"Perfectly normal, you say?!"

Listening to Grandeeney's calm tone, Igneel started to doubt himself. Was it really normal?!

After a few more days.

"I've made my decision! I'm going to find other dragons!"

Kei's training progress had slowed down. His basic training had reached its limits. To grow stronger, he needed to absorb the Dragon Power of other dragons or Dragon Slayers!
