Chapter 35: Star Dou Forest, Han Li’s Unique Secret Technique

Chapter 35: Star Dou Forest, Han Li's Unique Secret Technique

It had been three days since they left Martial Soul City.

Inside the carriage, Han Li and Guang Ling were lounging on the plush sofas, each sipping tea from the small table beside them, occasionally popping a snack into their mouths, and flipping through their respective storybooks. A truly leisurely scene.

"Xiao Li, what should we have for lunch? Hotpot or barbecue?" Guang Ling lazily turned his head and asked.

"I'm fine with either, up to you, Teacher. But isn't it a little early? Let's wait a bit longer." Han Li put down his book and answered casually.

"That works. We'll have Rosaqo join us when it's time." Guang Ling nodded.

"Sure."

Han Li had no objections. In truth, this was his first time meeting their coachman, a Soul Emperor, whose name he only learned after half a day on the road. He had almost lost control of his emotions upon hearing it.

Grandmaster Luo. A name etched deeply in his memory.

Coincidentally, this Rosaqo had an unusual Martial Soul an intangible insect, a spiritual type control based Soul Emperor, with a skill called "Spirit Thread" that stacked buffs endlessly.

What's more, Rosaqo was delighted by how Han Li addressed him. "Grandmaster Luo!" What a prestigious title! Even though he had no surname, he wholeheartedly accepted the one "bestowed" upon him.

If a future Title Douluo level figure called him that, then from today on his name was officially Luo Rosaqo! Anyone who objected would face his wrath!

Not only that, but Han Li had even given him some heartfelt advice:

"Master Luo, be extremely careful in battles. Never rush in alone, even if the enemy seems weaker than you."

How thoughtful!

Rosaqo was deeply moved if he wasn't driving the carriage, he would have bragged about it to his colleagues already.

"Master Luo, lunch is ready!"

After traveling a while longer, Rosaqo heard Han Li calling from inside the carriage. He immediately parked by the roadside and cautiously entered the cabin.

Their journey continued without any unexpected incidents. As they passed through various small towns, their luxurious carriage naturally drew a lot of attention. However, once onlookers noticed the Martial Soul Hall insignia and sensed the powerful aura of their coachman, no one dared approach.

After nearly ten days of travel, they finally arrived at the outskirts of Star Dou Forest just before noon.

Leaving Rosaqo behind in a nearby town to guard the carriage, Han Li and Guang Ling ignored the curious stares and the various mercenaries shouting for party members. Instead, they headed straight for a Martial Soul Hall officer who had been waiting for them.

"Any updates on the Golden Scale Eagle?" Guang Ling waved his token to halt the officer's bow and asked directly.

"Your Grace, according to our latest intelligence, there haven't been any major changes. The Golden Scale Eagle is still residing near a cliff in the mixed zone. Here is the detailed map for your review."

The officer swiftly presented a meticulously marked map while speaking respectfully.

"Not bad. Alright, you're dismissed. We'll take care of the rest." Guang Ling waved him off.

Just as the officer was about to leave, Han Li stopped him.

"Thank you for your hard work. Here's a small token of appreciation buy some tea for the team. Han Li sincerely thanks you for your efforts."

He smiled while handing over a prepared pouch containing 1,000 gold soul coins.

The officer broke into a cold sweat and hurriedly refused:

"My lord, this is our duty. We cannot accept this would break regulations."

Guang Ling rolled his eyes at his disciple's behavior but still spoke up:

"Just take it. It's his gratitude, and no one will question it."

"But…"

The officer hesitated, visibly nervous.

"Enough, take it. You're just following orders."

Han Li shoved the pouch into the officer's hands, then walked off with Guang Ling toward the forest, no longer paying him any attention.

As they ventured deeper into the forest, the surrounding trees and foliage thickened, gradually drowning out the noise of the nearby town.

The bustling calls of merchants and mercenaries were replaced by the occasional rustle of leaves and distant roars of soul beasts.

"The air here is really refreshing."

Han Li remarked as he expanded his perception, his Ice Fire Bow gripped tightly in his hand. His antennae allowed him to detect every environmental change, from temperature shifts to faint traces left behind by passing humans or animals.

"Your awareness is decent." Guang Ling nodded in approval. "From here on, you'll hunt alone. I'll follow, but I won't interfere. This will test how well you've trained."

"No problem, Teacher. Just promise me three things: Don't eat chicken legs, don't drink alcohol, and don't provoke a hundred thousand year old soul beast."

Han Li grinned.

Guang Ling snorted, smacking the back of his disciple's head before kicking him forward.

Even though he didn't understand what Han Li meant, he was sure it wasn't anything good.

Falling back to maintain some distance, Guang Ling ensured that Han Li remained within his line of sight and attack range.

With the map's precise markings, Han Li stuck to the designated route, avoiding unnecessary detours.

In the outer forest, soul beasts were abundant, but most were only ten year variants. Even hundred year soul beasts were rare. Using his mental power, Han Li easily drove away weaker creatures.

However, as he ventured deeper, he finally encountered his first thousand year soul beast. Han Li raised his alertness further, gripping his Ice Fire Blades instead of his bow, preparing for close combat.

As daylight faded, he made a decision:

"Teacher."

The moment he spoke, Guang Ling reappeared beside him.

"What? You're stopping here?"

"Yes." Han Li answered decisively. "While I don't rely solely on sight, there's no need to take unnecessary risks. I've reached my self imposed safety limit, and pushing forward wouldn't be wise."

Guang Ling twitched at the corner of his mouth.

This brat…

He was clearly in perfect condition his mental power was at least 70% full, his soul power untouched, and the day's travel wasn't even a tenth of his usual training intensity.

Yet he already considered this his 'limit'?

Honestly, Guang Ling didn't know what to say.

"Alright then. What's your plan?"

"If you're willing to stand guard, we can camp here it's a suitable spot. If not, we'll withdraw to a pre selected location in the outer forest and restart our journey at dawn. We'll reach the target around noon, ensuring maximum safety."

Han Li's response was instant and confident, proving he had planned this long in advance.

Guang Ling sighed. "Fine, we'll camp here. I'll stand guard."

Han Li grinned, immediately wielding his Fire Blades to clear out a campsite.

Guang Ling stood back, watching silently.

Within half an hour, Han Li had the entire camp set up a fire pit, a hanging rack for cooking pots, and even stone cut sleeping areas with plush blankets.

The sight made Guang Ling speechless.

This brat… Was he hunting a soul beast or on a camping trip?

"Dinner's ready, Teacher!"

Han Li called cheerfully, handing Guang Ling a steaming bowl.

Guang Ling took a sip, then narrowed his eyes:

"You planned for me to stand guard from the start, didn't you?"

Han Li beamed under the firelight:

"Teacher's love and care! If you refused, I'd have retreated!"

After all his greatest secret technique was simple:

"When in doubt, just rely on Teacher!"
