Chapter 57: Renaming the Martial Soul & Post Evolution Enhancements

Chapter 57: Renaming the Martial Soul & Post Evolution Enhancements

Seeing the old man scoot closer, the master and disciple didn't mind. Some things would inevitably be revealed once Han Li started using them.

Besides, Dugu Bo was now their designated bodyguard one that was practically throwing himself at them. The least they could do was show him basic respect, not to mention he was the type to offer benefits himself.

With two Title Douluo assisting him, Han Li quickly began testing the strength of his newly evolved martial soul.

In less than an hour, the initial testing was complete, and the excitement had finally worn off. That's when they all noticed their stomachs growling.

So, under Dugu Bo's watchful gaze, Han Li decisively pulled out a set of pre prepared tables, chairs, cooking utensils, pots, bowls, clean water, broth base, and fresh high quality ingredients from his storage wristband.

The three of them moved a little away from the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well and set up a hot pot meal.

The crisp morning air was soon filled with an irresistible fragrance. Han Li had even gathered some herbs that could double as spices, making the aroma even richer.

Watching the meat in the pot slowly change color, Guang Ling picked up a piece with his chopsticks, put it into his mouth, and swallowed before looking at Han Li.

"Shouldn't you rename your martial soul? Calling it Ice Fire Bow and Ice Fire Blades doesn't really fit anymore after its evolution."

"Agreed! A true expert's martial soul should never have a mediocre name. Honestly, even your previous martial soul's name didn't do it justice," Dugu Bo interjected, chomping down on a leafy vegetable like a wise elder offering advice.

Guang Ling nodded in agreement. He had thought about this before Han Li's previous martial soul was already exceptional, but he never cared about renaming it, always saying it was fine as long as it got the point across. Now that it had undergone such drastic changes, a new name was necessary.

Savoring the spicy sensation in his mouth, Han Li took a sip of juice, thought for a moment, and finally answered, "Then let's call it Ice Fire Dragon God Bow and Ice Fire Dragon God Blades. Seems fitting."

Guang Ling and Dugu Bo exchanged glances, both looking somewhat pained by the name choice.

But, well… it was at least better than before, so they begrudgingly nodded and accepted it. They couldn't think of a better name on the spot anyway, and Han Li himself didn't really care.

"What level would you say your martial soul ranks at now? Did it reach the level we speculated before?" Guang Ling suddenly asked.

"Not yet. It's about halfway there. During my evolution, I felt there was still room for growth, but maybe because my level is too low, I couldn't handle it yet. My martial soul has reached its temporary limit, and I didn't want to risk anything, so I let it be. I'll try again when I reach Soul King or Soul Sage. For now, this is more than enough."

Han Li understood what his master was implying and answered vaguely.

The Angelic Martial Soul was a God Level Martial Soul this was a secret of the Spirit Hall. Even if Dugu Bo had now aligned himself with them, he wasn't officially part of the Hall. Certain things couldn't be said in front of him.

Seeing the master and disciple speaking cryptically in front of him, Dugu Bo shot them a glare. But he also realized there were still things he wasn't privy to, so he simply stuffed a mouthful of meat into his mouth in frustration.

"Oh, right, Master. I almost forgot I've hit Rank 30. I need to start considering my next soul ring." Han Li casually mentioned before going back to devouring his fragrant, half eaten fish.

Guang Ling and Dugu Bo froze, their chopsticks hovering in mid air.

Then, as one, they both turned to look at Han Li as if he were some kind of monster.

A long silence followed. Then, they both sighed in unison, setting their chopsticks down.

No point in eating now after hearing that, they had lost their appetites.

Back when they cultivated, every step forward was a grueling struggle. But this kid? He just took a nap, and not only did his martial soul evolve overnight, but his soul power also skyrocketed by seven whole ranks.

How could they not feel bitter?

Han Li, realizing he hadn't gotten a response, looked up only to find both of them staring at him in eerie silence.

"…What's wrong? You guys don't have any soul beast recommendations?"

He frowned slightly, feeling a little troubled. He had read a lot of reference materials but hadn't found a soul beast that truly caught his eye. He had planned to ask his master for advice.

The two men exchanged another glance and sighed again. Then, they picked up their chopsticks once more.

Might as well eat. No point in taking their frustration out on their stomachs.

Seeing their reactions, Han Li finally understood and couldn't help but chuckle.

"Master, Senior, you don't need to react like this. You both know how miraculous immortal herbs are, right? Given how extraordinary they are, doesn't it make sense that the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well their source would be even more powerful?"

"And besides, this didn't come without a price."

Their gazes focused on him again, so he paused for a moment before continuing, "The energy in the Yin Yang Well was incredibly potent, and since I absorbed it directly through my martial soul, most of the immortal herbs here probably won't have much effect on me anymore."

"Well, Maybe the Dew of Everseeing Eyes will still be useful, but that one mainly boosts spiritual power. My soul power probably won't skyrocket anymore in the short term. You can just think of it as me having absorbed the effects of the herbs in advance it's all the same."

"Plus, with my current soul power density, my future cultivation speed is likely to slow down."

Han Li deliberately omitted the fact that his ice and fire attributes might have reached the Extreme Level. There was no established concept for this yet, and the boundaries of Extreme Attributes were vague at best he wasn't certain about it himself.

Hearing his explanation, the two men let out a sigh of relief.

It wasn't that they weren't happy for him, but if a junior kept surpassing them at such an absurd rate, the psychological pressure was intense.

Especially for Dugu Bo if things continued like this, he had a strong feeling that in less than ten years, Han Li would be strong enough to beat him senseless.

As if taking revenge, they aggressively grabbed every piece of food left in the pot, leaving Han Li no choice but to pull out more ingredients.

While they waited for the new batch to cook, the two Title Douluo temporarily set aside their differences and unanimously demanded that Han Li spill everything at once. They didn't want to deal with any more shocking revelations later.

Han Li thought for a moment. He really didn't have much else to hide, so he simply stood up.

Activating his soul power, a layer of translucent dragon scales emerged over his body, enveloping him completely. His antennae and Eagle Eye also reappeared, both having undergone significant changes.

His antennae had shortened considerably. If not for their striking red and white color making them stand out against his black hair, they would have almost blended in with its length.

His Eagle Eye, by contrast, hadn't changed as much except for its color. It had shifted from amber to a faint red, and when activated, a mist like red glow trailed behind his head, making him look particularly striking.

Guang Ling took one look at Han Li's new form and immediately said, "Alright. Hit me with your full strength."

Without hesitation, the moment Guang Ling finished speaking, Han Li threw a punch.

A dull thud echoed as Guang Ling caught his fist, gradually increasing his grip to test the defensive power of the translucent dragon scales.

Only when Han Li's expression twisted in pain did he finally let go, nodding in satisfaction.

"Master, how is it?"

Han Li was eager to know where his physical strength and defenses stood now.

"Very strong. Even better than I expected. In terms of raw power, defense, and strength, you're about on par with your Senior Martial Brother Jin Crocodile when he was at Rank 50. Compared to an average Rank 60 Beast Soul Emperor, you're not far off either."

"That's not 'not far off' he's a damn monster," Dugu Bo muttered.

"What monster?! Say it properly he's a genius, a prodigy! Understand?"

Guang Ling's temper flared instantly.

Han Li, nodding along, fully agreed.

He was a person, not some kind of monster.
