Henry sat on a barrel, arms crossed, staring at Lily with intense suspicion.
"Alright, new crewmate, let's hear it. What's this treasure you're talking about?"
Lily smirked, leaning against the mast. "Glad you asked, Captain! Ever heard of the Azure Pearl?"
Scarlet's expression darkened. "The Azure Pearl? The one that supposedly brings eternal luck?"
Henry's eyes lit up. "An eternal luck treasure?!"
Boggart frowned. "It's also cursed, Cap'n."
Henry's eyes dimmed. "A cursed treasure?!"
Lily waved a hand. "Oh, please. 'Cursed' is just a fancy word for dangerous but profitable." She leaned in. "And I know exactly where it is."
The crew exchanged glances.
Scarlet sighed. "This is a bad idea."
Henry grinned. "Which makes it a great idea!"
Lily clapped her hands. "Exactly! Now, all we have to do is sail to Dead Man's Cove—"
Boggart's face went pale. "Absolutely not."
Scarlet groaned. "Dead Man's Cove? Lily, that place is a death trap!"
Henry, still grinning, turned to Boggart. "How bad are we talking?"
Boggart exhaled. "Very bad. Rumors say ships disappear there. The water itself drags people down. The dead whisper in the mist."
Henry considered this.
Then he turned to Lily. "And this totally not cursed treasure is just sitting there?"
Lily grinned. "Would I lie to you, Captain?"
Scarlet, Boggart, and Shade all answered at the same time. "Yes."
Henry rubbed his chin. "Fair point. But still! We're pirates! Danger is what we do!"
Marrow raised a hand. "I like this plan. Can I bring extra explosives?"
Henry clapped him on the shoulder. "Marrow, I expect extra explosives."
Scarlet sighed, already regretting all her life choices. "We're going to die."
Henry turned dramatically. "Scarlet, please. When have I ever led us wrong?"
Scarlet started listing. "The Volcano Incident, the Kraken Fiasco, that time you thought you could outdrink a sea ogre—"
Henry waved her off. "Fine, fine, details. The point is—we set sail immediately!"
Scarlet groaned. "I need a drink."
Lily grinned, tossing a stolen coin in the air. "Then let's go find ourselves some luck."
