Chapter 4: Stranger or gentlemen

Xiao Ting was so shocked that she slapped him. "Are you crazy?"

"This is a private dressing room! I'm a female, you're not supposed to be here," she snapped, her voice sharp.

He rubbed his cheek, clearly startled. "I just saved your life, and this is my reward?"

Her glare was as icy as her tone. "I didn't ask for your help, okay? I'm fine. As a thank-you gift, I won't call security. So, before I change my mind, leave."

A flicker of amusement danced in his dark eyes, and he chuckled. "You're gorgeous when you're mad."

Her cheeks flushed, and she blinked rapidly, caught off guard.

"Damn," he murmured, taking a slow step forward. "I didn't know you'd be this stunning when-" He stopped himself, his gaze softening.

She took a cautious step back, her defenses rising. Why did I slap him? The thought hit her like a wave. She was alone in this room with him, what was she thinking?

He stopped advancing and held his ground, raising his hands in surrender. "Relax. I'm not going to hurt you. You look like a frightened kitten." His tone was gentle now, almost apologetic. "I was just trying to help."

Xiao Ting shifted nervously from one foot to another. "Then please leave. I'm not comfortable with other people… especially strangers."

He nodded slightly, stepping back. "Alright, I'll leave for today."

She exhaled in relief, her shoulders dropping.

But before she could regain her composure, he closed the distance in one fluid motion, taking her hand gently in his.

Before she could protest, he brushed a soft kiss against her knuckles.

"Remember this face, Your Highness," he said, his voice smooth, his smirk teasing.

Her breath hitched, and she froze, her heart racing. He turned and left her standing there, speechless.

She never thought she'd see him again.
