In a world where death has been defeated by technology, humanity is divided between two irreconcilable camps: the transhumanists, who seek immortality through the digitalization of the mind, and the purists, who defend the human essence and see technology as a threat to the soul. In the midst of this war, Cooper Tower, a disenchanted employee of a transhumanist corporation, discovers that his routine job hides secrets that could change the fate of humanity.
It all begins when Cooper meets Kelly, an eight-year-old boy whose mind has been transferred to a database after a tragic accident. As he interacts with Kelly, Cooper begins to question whether what he hears is really the child's soul or just a simulation created by artificial intelligence. Is Kelly a living person trapped in a machine, or just an illusion designed to comfort the living?
When the organization is attacked by the Purists, Cooper is forced to flee with the data card containing Kelly's mind. On his way, he crosses paths with Sandy, a police detective investigating the Purist attacks. Although Sandy secretly sympathizes with the Purists, her encounter with Cooper and Kelly leads her to question everything she thinks she knows about life, death and the soul.
