Chapter 2

I know where my husband's first love lives. When I first met He Yan, she even invited me to her house as a guest, treating me like a good sister.

I naively thought she was a good person. Who knew she had been scheming all along to seduce Jiang Ming.

I drove quickly to He Yan's house.

They have a small yard, and there they were in the gazebo outside, chatting and laughing. There was a cake on the table, which had been eaten. It was evident they had made their wishes and blown out the candles.

He Yan even picked up a spoon to feed Jiang Ming cake, deliberately smearing it on Jiang Ming's lips, then extended her finger to wipe it off for him.

"Oh my, look at you, getting it all over the place."

She then put the cake-stained finger into her mouth to suck it clean, her gaze flirtatiously hooking Jiang Ming, who was stunned.

Neither of them noticed my arrival.

To my surprise, on He Yan's birthday, it was just the two of them. Jiang Ming wore only a white shirt, shorts on the bottom, casual yet bold, with three of the shirt buttons unbuttoned, revealing his proud chest muscles.

The tenderness and infatuation in Jiang Ming's eyes were something I had never seen before.

At the same time, He Yan leaned closer, ready to embrace him. Their lips were about to touch.

Without thinking much, I shouted loudly, "Jiang Ming!"

My husband saw me appear and changed his expression immediately, his tone displeased.

Yes, I had interrupted his good time.

"What's your problem? Why are you here? Was He Yan's birthday an invitation for you?"

"Can't I even celebrate a friend's birthday?"

I looked at He Yan's smooth lower body, barely covered by a cool vest that just covered her hips. I wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't wearing pants underneath.

Is this how you celebrate a birthday with a friend?

I had no mood to deal with such things.

I urgently said, "Dad isn't doing well, he urgently needs you for heart surgery, come back to the hospital with me!"

Upon hearing this, my husband stood right up, slamming the table.

"Enough! My dad's seventieth birthday is the day after tomorrow! His health is great, as a doctor, wouldn't I know?"

"To make me go back, you even curse him with a heart attack. What kind of person are you?"

Jiang Ming was convinced I was lying and seemed ready to hit me.

I stressed again, "Dad really is in trouble, your birthday is over, right? Come back and do the surgery first, or save him and then come back later!"

I even took out my phone to have him talk to his mother-in-law, to prove I wasn't lying.

But the next second, my husband didn't even look up and casually flicked my phone away.

With a smash, it shattered on the ground, the screen cracking.

"Enough, Xu Ya!"

"If you keep using my dad's life to make a fuss, don't blame me for disregarding our marriage!"

"Oh my, Brother Ming, don't be mad. I think Sister Xu just really misses you and wants you to go home, so she told this lie, please try to understand her."

He Yan's words reinforced Jiang Ming's belief that I was lying.

With a life at stake, I couldn't stand He Yan's instigation: "Shut up! If something happens to his dad, will you take responsibility?"

"Ah! Sister Xu, you're so fierce, Brother Ming..."

He Yan feigned fright like a startled fawn, hiding behind Jiang Ming, who comforted her with a hand on the ground, telling her not to be afraid.

Calling him Brother Ming again and again, how could she say it so effortlessly?

I've never called Jiang Ming that in my life.

Jiang Ming seemed to enjoy it, and after hearing He Yan, he directly kicked me out: "Get out of here now! You're not welcome!"

"Dad is waiting for you to save his life, you're not coming with me! I won't leave!"

Slap!

He slapped me on the face: "Cheap!"

It hurt, but I endured it with tears, no matter how he treated me, as long as he went back with me now. I didn't want my father-in-law to just pass away.

"Even if you beat me to death, please! You must come back with me now!"

Jiang Ming was even angrier upon hearing this: "You're hopeless! Hmph! If you're not leaving, we're leaving. Xiao Yan, didn't you say you wanted to see the sea? I'll take you."

"Okay! But... what about Sister Xu?"

"Heh, doesn't she refuse to leave? Let her stay here and watch your house."

My husband grabbed He Yan's hand, went into her house to pack their things. He Yan giggled about wearing the most seductive swimsuit for Jiang Ming to see.

In a hurry to escape my sight, Jiang Ming quickly took He Yan to the car. He Yan, holding Jiang Ming's arm, provocatively showed her phone to me.

"I was chatting with Uncle this morning, and he even invited me to his seventieth birthday."

How could my father-in-law invite such a woman? Whenever she came by, my in-laws wished they could chase her away with a broom, only Jiang Ming always protected her.

"Jiang Ming! You can't leave! Don't listen to her nonsense! You'll regret leaving for the rest of your life!"

Jiang Ming gentlemanly opened the car door for He Yan, then got in the driver's seat himself. Before leaving, he said coldly to me, "You think I'll regret a divorce? Not at all. Xiao Yan, let's go, finish seeing the sea, and pick out a birthday gift for my dad."

"Sure! Uncle will definitely like the gift I choose."

Jiang Ming slammed the car door hard and drove off, ignoring my cries in the dust.
