"Rent-a-wife? Isn't that something made up in novels!" I was genuinely surprised.

"Haha, real life is far more outrageous than novels. Not only is rent-a-wife not made up, it's actually one of the most popular tourist services here." The driver began explaining to me in detail.

Rent-a-wife, means Thai girls serve as temporary wives for tourists.

Foreign tourists sign rent-a-wife agreements with these girls for a few days to as long as several months.

During the agreement period, during the day, these girls are the tourists' guides, companions, translators, organizing itineraries, meals, and lodging.

At night, tourists can do whatever they want with the gentle and beautiful girls, including sleeping together or playing other forbidden games.

The girls can have no objections because, during the contract period, the girls are the personal property of the guests.
