Chapter 4

The doctor sighed, "Miss has likely experienced extreme psychological or physical abuse, which is causing these acute stress reactions."

"Additionally, she's severely malnourished. It seems she hasn't eaten properly in a long time. We need to consult a nutritionist for her recovery."

"Moreover, we must get her to a hospital quickly to assess her mental state. Her condition is already very dangerous and could lead to various complications..."

Before the doctor could finish, Melody interrupted.

"How is that possible? We've taken care of everything at the training facility. My sister should have been well looked after. How could this happen?"

"No, Miss, she is..."

The doctor tried to continue, but was cut off by her brother's cold voice.

"Enough! Dr. Montgomery, you're in on her lies too, aren't you?"

He looked at me with contempt, as if he had figured something out.

"Seraphina, you're quite clever, aren't you? Even know how to bribe doctors!"

The doctor was taken aback. "Young master, you've misunderstood..."

"What have I misunderstood? The sedative you gave her was fake too, right? She's still wide awake! How much did she pay you to lie for her?"Dad stared at the doctor with some displeasure and said, "Doctor Montgomery, my daughter only stayed at a professional training institute for a year. The daily routine there is healthy, and the meals are nutritionally balanced. What you're describing simply isn't possible."

Mom sighed beside him, "Seraphina, why are you still so inconsiderate?"

Melody began to cry on cue.

"Mom, Dad, why does big sister seem to have an even worse temper than before? Wah... my head hurts so much..."

My brother grabbed my hand, making as if to drag me outside.

"Seraphina, since you show no remorse, you're going back to the institute!"

"No! I won't go back! I'll be good, I promise! Please, don't take me back there..."

I wrenched my hand free, frantically looking for a place to hide.

My brother reached out to grab me again, but only managed to catch hold of my dress.

There was a ripping sound as the dress tore.

Revealing a back covered in horrifying scars, crisscrossing and grotesque.

Everyone froze in place.

I panicked instantly, falling to my knees and repeatedly kowtowing.

"Woof woof! Puppy was wrong... Puppy won't run away..."

"Master can do whatever they want to puppy, don't hit puppy, puppy will undress on her own..."Brother finally realized I wasn't faking it.

He gripped my hand tightly, yet awkwardly, as if unsure how to comfort me.

"Don't be afraid... sis, no one's going to hurt you."

Mom rushed over in tears to examine the injuries on my back, exclaiming in disbelief:

"How could this happen? How could my daughter's back be covered in so many wounds?"

Dad turned to Doctor Montgomery and said, "Hurry! Check what's going on with the injuries on her body!"

As Doctor Montgomery hastily approached, the moment his hand touched my back, I flinched.

"Don't touch me!"

"Mom! Help me, help me!"

I threw myself into Mom's arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

Everyone in the family wore expressions of heartache.

Melody, however, voiced her doubts in a low tone.

"Sis, how come you're fine everywhere else, but your back is injured?"

Mom, Dad, and Brother, upon hearing Melody's words, became suspicious again.

My heart skipped a beat as I finally remembered that they had covered up all the injuries on my body.

The special effects makeup artist said that even water wouldn't wash it off, only a specific acidic body wash could.

But what about the injuries on my back?Without waiting for me to think further, my brother reached out and wiped my back.

The crisscrossing scars on my back instantly became distorted and smudged.

"Just as I thought, it's painted on. It's fake!"

My brother gritted his teeth and slapped me across the face.

"Seraphina, stop acting! No one's going to believe you anymore!"

Mom and Dad looked disappointed, sighing and shaking their heads.

A flash of triumph gleamed in Melody's eyes as she covered her head and collapsed.

"Melody!"

Mom, Dad, and my brother immediately rushed over to her in panic, cradling her in their arms.
