Chapter 2

Moreover, on the first day at work today, how did he so smoothly start calling Zhao Yina "Sister Na"?

This kind of boyfriend feels a bit unfamiliar to me.

It's clear he's really nervous about this internship, so I nodded and agreed with him for now, "Mm, got it. After work, do you want to go..."

I hadn't finished my sentence when he suddenly covered my mouth, reminding me, "Oh right, don't tell anyone that we're dating. I've got to get busy now."

With that said, he immediately turned around and left.

I had no choice but to follow him out of the fire escape, only to see Zhao Yina glaring at me at the door, seemingly waiting to catch me slipping up, and she said, "It's just the first day at work, and you're already slacking off?!"

"Isn't it lunch break now?" Looking baffled, I showed her the Beijing standard time on my phone, and pointed to the other interns in the group, saying, "They're still sleeping over there."

"Have you finished your work? How dare you take a break if you're not done?" Zhao Yina snorted coldly, looking displeased, and said, "Seems like you want to pack up and leave tomorrow, huh?"

Having said this, she turned around and left in a huff, leaving me with an awkward view of her departing figure.

Several people's tasks were all piled onto me, and I was told it had to be finished today.

But I just promised my boyfriend not to let him down, so I decided to endure her for now.

Fortunately, I'm quite capable, and I managed to organize all the documents she mentioned into booklets categorized by type and sent them to her email in just one afternoon.

It was exactly five-thirty, time to clock out.

Zhao Yina walked out of her small office, seeing everyone still busy, satisfied she announced, "Let's all have dinner together tonight! It's on the company!"

"Mu Xi, have you finished your work? Do you want to join us for dinner and finish afterward?" The intern next to me, Xiao Yao, leaned over and asked.

However, before I could answer, Zhao Yina looked at me sternly and said, "Those who haven't finished their work have no right to join the dinner."

Out of the ten interns, I was the only one assigned a workload, so the person she's referring to as having unfinished work could only be me.

"I'm done." I shrugged nonchalantly, "I've already sent it to your email. I sorted those documents by year and month, they're all outdated business proposals from ten years ago."

All those were discarded documents, and it's clear Zhao Yina just wanted to give me a hard time by making me do such irrelevant, repetitive, and time-consuming tasks.

I consider myself unlucky for having upset her on the first day.

But my main task is to date my boyfriend here, so I didn't take her too seriously.

I pulled out my employee card and clocked out in front of everyone, saying to Xiao Yao, who kindly invited me to the gathering, "I want to spend time with my boy..."

Unfortunately, before I could finish, Wu Zhiyuan interrupted me excitedly, turning to Zhao Yina and asking her, "Sister Na, where are we going for this company dinner?"
