Chapter 5: The Specialists Arrive

The street was in ruins.

Wrecked cars, shattered glass, and unconscious soldiers littered the area. Kael-X stood in the center, his head tilted slightly downward, his long silver hair covering his eyes. His expression was unreadable—neither anger nor amusement.

Just calm.

The man in the black tactical suit remained standing, unfazed. His hands were tucked into his pockets, and he showed no signs of fear despite the carnage surrounding him.

Kael-X took a slow step forward. "You're different."

The man smirked. "And you're exactly what we expected."

Before Kael-X could respond, a mechanical hum filled the air.

From the sky, four metallic pods dropped onto the street, slamming into the pavement with enough force to crack the asphalt. Each pod hissed as doors slid open, revealing four figures—each wearing sleek, advanced armor with glowing red visors.

Kael-X examined them carefully.

Their movements were precise. Their heartbeats—slower, controlled. Their armor wasn't just for protection. It was designed to enhance their speed and reflexes.

"Finally," Kael-X murmured, rolling his shoulders. "Something worth killing."

The man in black chuckled. "I'd introduce them, but names won't matter when they put you in the ground."

Kael-X smirked. "You think they're fast enough to see me move?"

The leader of the armored team took a step forward. His visor flickered, scanning Kael-X's muscle density, energy output, and speed potential.

Then, he spoke.

"Target is beyond human capabilities. Initiating adaptive combat protocol."

The Specialists attacked.

A Battle Beyond Human Perception

Kael-X saw it all.

Before the first soldier even twitched, Kael-X had already calculated their movements. To them, the fight had just begun.

To him, it was already over.

The first soldier lunged, boosters on his boots igniting, launching him forward at speeds no normal human could achieve. He moved like a blur to the human eye—fast, but nowhere near Kael-X's level.

Kael-X simply stepped aside.

To everyone watching, it was as if the Specialist had thrown himself into empty space. He crashed into a burning car, flipping over it as his momentum carried him too far.

The second soldier fired a pulse rifle, the energy bolts streaking toward Kael-X. But in his vision, the bolts crawled through the air like floating embers.

Too slow.

Kael-X simply walked through them, stepping aside as they passed harmlessly by.

The third soldier tried to flank him, deploying energy blades from his wrists. Kael-X tilted his head slightly, still allowing his hair to cover his eyes as if he didn't need to see them at all.

"Nice toys," Kael-X muttered.

The moment the soldier swung, Kael-X moved.

In the blink of an eye, Kael-X was behind him, standing casually with his hands in his pockets.

A second later—

CRACK!

The soldier's arm shattered, bending at an unnatural angle. He screamed, but Kael-X had already moved on.

The last Specialist hesitated. That was enough.

Kael-X vanished—then reappeared with his hand wrapped around the soldier's throat. He lifted him off the ground with no effort, observing the struggling figure.

"Your armor makes you faster than the others," Kael-X noted, almost impressed. "But you're still too slow."

He squeezed.

The visor cracked. The soldier gasped, choking, struggling to break free.

Then—Kael-X let him go.

The soldier collapsed, gasping for breath. Kael-X turned away, looking toward the man in black. "Is this all you have?"

The man simply smiled. "Oh, we're just getting started."

From above, a massive shadow loomed over the city.

Kael-X looked up.

A warship hovered in the sky, its massive cannons charging with energy. It wasn't human technology. It was something else. Something Kael-X recognized.

His smirk faded.

Zypheron had found him.

And this battle was far from over.

To Be Continued...
