Chapter 24 – Clash of Titans
The fight between Kael-X and Unit-07 had escalated beyond human comprehension. The air itself trembled from their relentless exchanges, and the battlefield had been reduced to rubble.
BOOM!
Kael-X dodged another plasma strike, the searing heat barely missing his face. He twisted mid-air, delivering a brutal kick to Unit-07's side, sending the cyborg crashing through three buildings.
"Damage level: 82%... WARNING: SYSTEM FAILURE IMMINENT."
Kael-X smirked. "You're not looking too good, robot."
But before he could press forward, a sudden explosion erupted from where Unit-07 had fallen. Flames and smoke billowed into the air, but something was wrong.
The explosion wasn't from Unit-07.
It was from above.
Kael-X's instincts screamed.
WHOOOOSH!
A massive energy projectile shot down from the sky, slamming into the battlefield like a meteor. The sheer force of the impact tore through the city, sending shockwaves that even Kael-X struggled against.
He barely dodged in time, the energy blast leaving behind a gigantic crater, erasing several city blocks.
His eyes narrowed. "That wasn't from the cyborg..."
Then, he heard it.
A voice. Cold. Calculated.
"You've caused enough destruction, Kael-X."
From the sky, a figure descended.
Cloaked in advanced exo-armor, radiating unstable Compound-X energy, this newcomer had an aura of absolute power.
Kael-X grinned.
"Oh? And who the hell are you?"
The figure landed, their presence alone distorting the air around them.
"I'm the one who's going to put you down."
Kael-X cracked his neck, his smirk widening as he observed the newcomer. The energy radiating from this one was unlike anything he had faced so far. It wasn't just Compound-X—it was something more… something engineered.
"You're the one who's going to put me down?" Kael-X scoffed. "I doubt that."
The armored figure took a step forward, the ground beneath them cracking from the sheer force of their presence.
"Designation: Commander Helios," the figure finally spoke, their voice distorted through a high-tech voice modulator. "Leader of the Omega Enforcers. Stand down now, Kael-X, or be eliminated."
Kael-X let out a sharp laugh. "You government types never learn."
Before another word could be exchanged, Helios moved.
No, he vanished.
In the blink of an eye, Kael-X's instincts flared, and he barely managed to twist his body—just as a devastating punch from Helios grazed his ribs.
BOOOOM!
The sheer force of the attack ripped through the air, sending shockwaves across the ruined city. The few remaining structures in the area collapsed instantly.
Kael-X skidded backward, his feet digging trenches into the shattered pavement.
He glanced down—his suit had absorbed most of the damage, but he could feel the impact in his bones.
"Tch. Not bad," he muttered, flexing his fingers. "But you'll have to do better than that."
Helios didn't reply. He was already moving again.
This time, Kael-X was ready.
The moment Helios reappeared to strike again, Kael-X countered—catching his fist mid-air.
CRACK!
The force of their clash sent a shockwave so powerful it flipped destroyed vehicles into the sky.
For a brief moment, they were locked in place, each testing the other's strength.
Then, Helios twisted, slamming a reinforced knee straight into Kael-X's gut.
Kael-X grunted in pain, but before Helios could follow up, Kael-X retaliated.
He activated his own power boost.
Blue lightning surged through his body—Compound-X at its peak efficiency.
Kael-X's speed doubled in an instant.
He vanished from Helios's grip—then appeared behind him in less than a millisecond.
"Too slow."
BOOOM!
Kael-X's counterattack sent Helios flying, crashing through a collapsed skyscraper.
But the moment the debris settled—Helios was already standing again. His armor barely had a dent.
Kael-X's grin faltered slightly.
"Oh… so you're built different, huh?"
Helios raised a hand, and his armor began shifting—unlocking hidden power reserves.
A red glow pulsed from his core, his energy levels skyrocketing.
Kael-X exhaled. This fight was just getting started.
Kael-X watched as Helios's armor pulsed with a red glow, his power climbing rapidly. The city was already in ruins, but now it felt like the battlefield itself was rejecting them—crumbling under the sheer force of their fight.
"This is getting annoying." Kael-X clenched his fists, his body crackling with Compound-X energy. His suit adapted, shifting its power output.
Helios vanished again.
This time, Kael-X didn't wait.
Before Helios could fully reappear, Kael-X matched his speed and collided with him mid-air.
BOOOOOM!
The shockwave shattered the remains of the city, throwing debris in all directions. Drones in the sky struggled to keep up with the speed of their battle, broadcasting the chaos worldwide.
The world was watching.
A battle between the strongest being alive… and a force designed to stop him.
Helios twisted mid-air, slamming an elbow into Kael-X's jaw. The impact ripped through the atmosphere, causing a sonic boom.
Kael-X spun with the force of the hit but retaliated instantly—his knee striking Helios's ribs, sending him flying into the distance.
Helios crashed into the earth, skidding through miles of wreckage. He dug his fingers into the ground, stopping himself, and immediately launched back at Kael-X.
Kael-X was waiting.
He raised a single hand. "Enough."
The energy in his palm condensed into a spiraling mass of pure force.
Then, he unleashed it.
BOOOOOM!!!
The explosion erased everything in its path, forming a crater that stretched for miles.
For a brief moment, silence.
Then—Helios stepped out of the smoke.
Unharmed.
Kael-X narrowed his eyes. This guy… is actually a problem.
Helios's armor had fully transformed. The red glow was now golden.
"Kael-X." Helios's voice was no longer distorted. It was clear, focused. "You will lose this battle."
Kael-X grinned. "Let's see about that."
And then—they charged at each other once more
Kael-X gritted his teeth, his body pulsing with raw energy. The air between them vibrated as he and Helios stood at a standoff, both warriors now at their peak. The battlefield was no longer a city—just a wasteland of destruction.
Then, they moved.
The moment their fists collided—reality itself seemed to warp.
BOOOOOOM!!!
A burst of force tore through the land, splitting the earth open. Buildings that had somehow remained standing were vaporized instantly.
The sky itself seemed to react—thunder roared, and the clouds twisted violently.
Helios's golden armor flared, releasing shockwaves of power, and Kael-X felt himself getting pushed back. This was different.
Faster. Stronger.
Helios was not holding back anymore.
Kael-X smirked. "Good."
He vanished.
Helios's eyes widened, but before he could react—
Kael-X appeared behind him.
CRACK!
Kael-X's knee slammed into Helios's spine, sending him crashing into the shattered ground below. The impact sent a quake through the battlefield.
But before Kael-X could follow up—
Helios retaliated.
SHIIING!
A beam of golden energy shot from his palms, piercing straight through Kael-X's shoulder.
Kael-X staggered, his blood sizzling from the intense heat. He glared down at his wound—then at Helios, who was already back on his feet.
Helios clenched his fists. "This ends here, Kael-X."
Kael-X chuckled, wiping the blood from his lips. "Nah… We're just getting started."
BOOOOOM!
Both warriors rushed forward again, their final clash about to begin—
TO BE CONTINUED…
