Chapter 2

The words from my girlfriend pierced my heart deeply.

All these years, every time we fought, it was always me who would apologize first, always me who would buy her gifts to make her happy.

She seemed to have gotten used to yelling at me, used to always standing on the moral high ground to lecture me.

Until this moment, it's as if I'm seeing the woman in front of me for the first time.

My beloved girlfriend, the charming and adorable little wife, although a bit spoiled, surely would not cross the line.

Noticing I was ignoring her.

Wanwan came over and held my hand, suddenly softening her voice, "Mingxuan, don't be mad at me. You know me, I'm just a bit willful. There's nothing between Su Hao and me, we're really innocent."

It was the first time she spoke softly to me, and it was indeed because of another man.

I saw a hint of provocation and mockery in Su Hao's eyes.

"Exactly, buddy, don't be so petty. You were proposing just now, right? Go on, I can be your witness!"

He even said that sarcastically!

"What does this have to do with you? Do you want me to say it a second time?"

Su Hao waved his hand with a smile, pretending to be graceful as he stepped back: "No problem, if you're not welcoming me, I'll just leave. Wanwan, women fear marrying the wrong man, you be careful!"

Saying that, he gave me a glare before leaving, and just as I was about to get angry, my girlfriend stopped me: "Alright, don't be mad. I just had a bit too much to drink today. Weren't you about to propose to me? Come on, I'll say yes!"

Saying this, she grabbed the ring box from my hand with excitement and put it on her finger, even asking me if it looked good.

I didn't know how to answer.

Seeing that I was still unhappy, she took out her phone to show me her WeChat: "See, there's really nothing between him and me. Look, I'll delete and block him in front of you! Now you can trust me, right?"

Saying this, she deleted a contact named Su Hao from her WeChat right in front of me. With her soft persuasion, I admit I relented.

"I promise, this will never happen again. Plus, I've already worn your ring—we're practically married! Let's find a time to get the certificate and then have a wedding, how about that?"

Her words moved me deeply because it's been a dream of mine for seven years.

But the thought of her passionately kissing Su Hao earlier kept nagging at me like a fly stuck in my throat—neither swallowable nor spittable.

That night, Wanwan behaved like a child who had done something wrong, being unusually obedient and proactive, even going as far as to shower and change into a special, particularly sensual set of clothes.

"Where did you get this outfit? I've never seen you wear it."

"You're silly, it's of course to surprise you! Does it look good?"

Wanwan has always been conservative and shy in front of me, so her initiative for the first time made me naively believe she was genuinely moved and willing to be my wife.

That night, once again, I was overwhelmed by her beauty and felt much better the next day.

In the morning, I got up to make breakfast for her, only to see her glance at her phone messages before hastily saying she needed to go to work.

Before leaving, she even changed her nude pantyhose to black ones. Though Wanwan worked an office job, she seldom wore black stockings; I'd hinted several times, but she always said she felt embarrassed, saying I was being perverted.

But recently, she's often worn stockings out, and her styles were increasing.

While doing her laundry, I was more surprised to find that I couldn't find a single pair of her panties, recalling that last night Wanwan had taken a bath and changed, and I remembered seeing her wear them earlier.

Could it be that last night, Wanwan hadn't worn any on her way home?

With a heavy heart, I went to work still trying to console myself—Wanwan had already agreed to marry me, so I should just consider what day to get the marriage certificate and hold the banquet.

Meanwhile, Wanwan's best friend Zhang Lu strode over, asking about last night's situation.

"I believe last night was a misunderstanding. She's already agreed to marry me. Remember to be our bridesmaid, okay?"

Zhang Lu's eyes showed a bit of surprise and she couldn't help but force a laugh: "Is that so? Tang Mingxuan, you really are..."

"Really what?"

"Really...wonderful! Such an amazing, great guy."
