"Ugh—" Patch roared like a wild animal, and with that final cry, the searing pain in his mind vanished in an instant. His head dropped, and he collapsed onto the bed with a heavy thud.
He lay still for an unknown amount of time before gradually regaining consciousness.
"What's going on?" Still groggy, Patch shook his head, slowly coming to his senses.
A voice echoed in his mind.
"The special logistics personnel of the Lanbai Society, your cute little time-traveling assistant Augustus, is here to serve you wholeheartedly. Do you have any questions about the new Lord God?"
Wait, rough? Little receiver? What the hell was that supposed to mean?
Time-travel assistant? New Lord God? What the hell was going on?
Just as Patch was processing these confusing thoughts, a virtual panel suddenly appeared in front of his eyes, giving him a shock.
