Zaren and the other hunters continued their journey toward Velmora, their footsteps echoing on the dirt path. His mind raced with questions.
"If the S-rank and SS-rank hunters failed to clear the dungeon… why are they sending us? Don't they have any other high-ranking hunters?"
His gaze shifted to Corvin, who was beaming with excitement. It was his first raid—his dream since childhood. Zaren sighed.
"Whatever the reason is, I need to ask our Guild Master about this."
Zaren quickened his pace until he was beside Mario, the Guild Master of Arcanum.
"Sir, why did they request us? Doesn't Velmora have its own hunters?"
Mario's expression remained calm as he explained.
"Actually, Zaren, Velmora has only two guilds, while Elyria has three. They only had two S-rank and SS-rank hunters, and when this dungeon appeared, they sent all their elite forces inside—including A-rank and B-rank hunters. Unfortunately, none of them returned. This left their kingdom defenseless. Low-ranked hunters are no match for an invasion, and since high-ranking hunters serve as the 'roots' of a kingdom, losing them means their entire kingdom is at risk."
Zaren frowned.
"So… their king requested our king's help because he trusts him?"
Mario nodded.
"Exactly. Our king and Velmora's king are old friends. When our previous king passed away due to illness, our current king fell into deep despair. He kept questioning whether he was worthy of the throne. But the King of Velmora encouraged him, giving him the strength to take on the responsibility. Now, our king wants to return the favor."
Zaren looked down thoughtfully.
"I guess… this king isn't a bad guy after all."
Then, a new question popped into his head.
"Does our king have any children?"
Mario chuckled.
"Yes, actually. He has a daughter—Maria."
Zaren's eyes widened, and he turned toward Maria, the Vice Guild Master of Arcanum.
"Wait… that means you're a princess?!"
Maria's calm expression didn't change, but a small smile tugged at her lips.
Mario and the other hunters burst into laughter at Zaren's reaction.

Inside the SSS-Rank Dungeon
Meanwhile, deep within the SSS-rank Dungeon, the monsters continued to evolve, their power surging. Even the weakest of them could now instantly defeat an A-rank hunter. The walls trembled as a dark, overwhelming aura filled the dungeon.
At the center of this storm stood the Demon Lord.
His eyes, now fully open, glowed a pure, menacing red. His aura twisted the air itself, and his long, flowing hair crackled with energy. Behind him stood four colossal dragons, their presence alone enough to send chills through any hunter. Even an S-rank wouldn't be able to stop them.
The dungeon's monsters immediately bowed before him, but he continued walking forward, his aura crushing the weak.
"If you are too weak to withstand my aura, then you are not strong enough to serve me."
One by one, the weakest monsters vanished into dust. The stronger ones trembled but forced themselves to adapt.
The Demon Lord's rage-filled eyes burned brighter as he spoke with a voice like thunder.
"I will show the humans what death truly means."
His aura exploded outward, shaking the dungeon to its core.
