Chapter 35: Searching for Haru

"Tanjiro, once Haru-senpai kills all the demons in Mount Fujikasane, we'll be completely safe!" Zenitsu had already begun imagining this perfect ending.

Tanjiro didn't respond to Zenitsu. After spending an entire night with him, Tanjiro knew that Zenitsu was not only timid but also a chatterbox.

So, when Zenitsu started rambling, Tanjiro usually chose to ignore it.

However, after learning that Haru was undertaking such a dangerous task, Tanjiro started to worry about him.

"Zenitsu, we need to find Haru-senpai quickly!" Tanjiro said to Zenitsu at this moment.

Zenitsu was a bit confused and asked, "Tanjiro, why go looking for Haru-senpai? He's out there hunting demons, and we're fine here. We could even get in his way!"

Hearing this, Tanjiro understood that Zenitsu didn't want to come along, so he didn't insist and instead said, "Alright, you stay with them. I'll go look for Haru-senpai alone."

When Zenitsu heard Tanjiro was going to leave him behind, he immediately became reluctant. After spending the night with Tanjiro, Zenitsu had developed some affection for him and trusted Tanjiro's abilities.

"Tanjiro, don't leave me behind! These people were all saved by Haru-senpai. It's not safe to stick with them. If we encounter a demon, they won't be able to protect me. I still want to live and find a girl to marry!" Zenitsu immediately grabbed Tanjiro, refusing to let him go.

Zenitsu's words immediately caused dissatisfaction among the other boys around them. Although what Zenitsu said was true, they felt that even if they couldn't beat a demon, it was still not the place of a coward to belittle them.

"You brat, what did you say? Do you want me to take you down right now?"

"Coward, are you looking for a fight?"

"Wimp, what gives you the right to talk like that? You're a coward!"

Countless insults and mockery were thrown at Zenitsu, who immediately shrank behind Tanjiro, fearfully saying, "Tanjiro, they're terrifying! I don't want to follow them!"

Seeing this, Tanjiro understood that Zenitsu had made enemies among the boys. And, considering that Zenitsu's words were indeed accurate, without Haru's help in clearing the demons and saving them yesterday, these boys would have been eaten by demons already.

So, if Zenitsu stayed with them, he'd likely be bullied.

"Everyone, listen to me. Since we're all gathered here, why don't we all go look for Haru-senpai together?" Tanjiro now had the idea of bringing the group along. He believed that if they acted together, their chances of survival would be higher, and even if they encountered a demon, they could help each other.

Tanjiro's suggestion caused many to fall into deep thought, and the atmosphere grew quiet. After having faced life-or-death situations, they now valued their lives more than ever.

No one responded to Tanjiro's call. Everyone preferred to stay in the safety zone marked by Haru and wait out the seven days.

"I'm injured, so I'd just be a burden. I'll pass," a boy with a more serious injury was the first to respond to Tanjiro.

Upon hearing this, Tanjiro looked at the boy. His right forearm, which had been holding a sword, was completely missing, and the wound had been roughly bandaged with his clothes. The bleeding had already stopped.

It was clear that this boy had been injured by a demon the day before. His condition was indeed not suitable for joining Tanjiro in searching for Haru.
