Chapter 58: Going Home

Tanjiro watched as Zenitsu looked as foolish as Zhu Bajie marrying a wife, and he felt nothing but helplessness in his heart.

Even if his sister was human, could she really be happy with this guy?

"Haru-senpai, we agreed on this! I'll join the Demon Slayer Corps, and you'll introduce Tanjiro's sister to me! Don't back out now!" Zenitsu, once again swayed by the temptation of Tanjiro's sister, changed his mind.

"Don't worry about it!" Haru promised.

Because of his own convictions and the desire to stay with Haru and Tanjiro, Murata Shinji decided not to join the Hidden Department.

In the end, after the re-count by Kanata and her brother, two-thirds of the group chose to join the Hidden Department, while the remaining third stuck with the Demon Slayer Corps.

The boys who changed their minds returned their Scarlet Ore.

Half an hour later, the selection for the Demon Slayer Corps officially ended, and the boys gathered on Mount Fujikasane slowly began to disperse.

Just as Haru was about to leave, Kanata approached him. With Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Murata watching, Kanata hugged Haru and said, "Remember the promise you made to me."

Seeing this, Haru smiled contently. He hadn't expected the system to have such power—it truly made her fall for him.

Haru gently touched Kanata's smooth face and said, "No empty words! From now on, you are my woman, Haru's woman. Wait patiently for the day I marry you."

"Then, goodbye!" Kanata said, not wasting any more words. She returned to her brother's side.

"Haru-senpai, teach me your secret to flirting!" Zenitsu, full of envy, immediately clung to Haru's leg.

After watching Kanata leave, Haru looked down at Zenitsu still holding his leg and coldly said, "Zenitsu, if you don't let go, I won't introduce Tanjiro's sister to you!"

Sure enough, the moment Haru spoke, Zenitsu immediately let go of him.

Afterward, Haru, Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Murata all bid each other farewell and went their separate ways.

Haru and Tanjiro prepared to return to Mt. Kagiri to share the good news with Sakonji Urokodaki. The two would rest in the log cabin for a few days while waiting for the swordsmith to deliver their custom-made Nichirin Blades.

By the time Haru and Tanjiro arrived back at the cabin on Mt. Kagiri, it was already night. As they approached the little wooden house where they had lived for the past two years, they heard the sound of a door opening, and Nezuko, Tanjiro's sister, walked out.

"Ah~ Nezuko, you're awake?" Tanjiro could no longer contain his excitement and joy, shouting out.

Nezuko turned to look in the direction of Tanjiro and Haru and, after observing for a moment, ran toward Tanjiro. Tanjiro, seeing this, also ran toward her.

Too excited, Tanjiro tripped after just a few meters, and Nezuko, seeing him fall, immediately rushed to hug him.

The two siblings embraced each other, and Tanjiro's emotions broke free, and he began crying out loud.

"Why did you suddenly fall asleep? You wouldn't wake up, and I thought you were going to die!" Tanjiro's emotions, held in for two years, exploded in front of Nezuko.

Haru stood quietly, watching the touching sibling reunion, and just as Sakonji Urokodaki, who had gone to gather firewood, returned, he also witnessed the scene. After exchanging a few seconds of glance with Haru, Sakonji threw the firewood aside and walked over to Tanjiro and Nezuko, pulling them into a hug.
