Chapter 62: The Two-Colored Nichirin Blade

After finishing his tea, Hotaru Haganezuka couldn't wait to see what color the Nichirin Blades of Haru and Tanjiro would turn.

"Hurry up and draw your swords! Your names are engraved on the scabbards! Look and see which sword is yours!" Hotaru Haganezuka waved his hand, urging them.

Tanjiro, eager to see, immediately drew the Nichirin Blade with his name engraved on it.

Haru, already having a Demon-Slaying Blade, wasn't particularly excited. However, out of respect for the swordsmith Hotaru Haganezuka, Haru also drew his own Nichirin Blade.

"The Nichirin Blade, also known as the color-changing sword, will change color based on its wielder," Hotaru Haganezuka continued.

Tanjiro, intrigued by Hotaru Haganezuka's words, couldn't help but draw his sword and carefully examine the blade.

After a few seconds, the golden-colored blade of Tanjiro's Nichirin Blade began to turn pitch black starting from the tip.

The blackness spread across the entire blade, and Tanjiro was amazed by the transformation.

"Black!" Hotaru Haganezuka cried out in surprise, his tone tinged with dissatisfaction, and his body started to tremble uncontrollably.

"Black, huh?" Sakonji Urokodaki said in a calm tone, murmuring to himself.

Seeing Hotaru Haganezuka so tense, Tanjiro couldn't help but feel anxious as well and asked, "Eh? Is black bad? Is it unlucky?"

At this point, Sakonji Urokodaki explained to Tanjiro, "No, it's not like that. It's just that black is not often seen."

Finally unable to contain himself, Hotaru Haganezuka shouted in frustration, "I thought I'd see a bright red blade! Damn it!"

With that, Hotaru Haganezuka leapt up and suddenly wrapped himself around Tanjiro, locking him in place.

Tanjiro immediately froze, unable to move, and could only shout, "It hurts, it hurts! Hotaru Haganezuka-san, please calm down, how old are you? You're acting like a child!"

Without any shame, Hotaru Haganezuka responded seriously, "I'm thirty-seven!"

Haru, ignoring their antics, curiously drew his own Nichirin Blade, eager to see what color it would turn.

As soon as Haru drew his sword, a few seconds later, the blade began to change color.

The blade appeared in two colors, water blue and dark green. These two colors didn't cover the blade evenly, and they seemed to clash with each other.

In the end, as the dark green and sky blue pressed against each other, the sky blue part of the blade formed a wave pattern, while the other side of the blade was covered by dark green.

"Two colors!" Sakonji Urokodaki exclaimed, visibly shocked as he observed Haru's Nichirin Blade.

Hearing this, Hotaru Haganezuka immediately shifted his gaze to Haru's blade. Upon seeing the two-colored blade, Hotaru Haganezuka released Tanjiro and quickly approached Haru, scrutinizing the two-colored blade up close.

"Two colors, huh? What's going on here?" Hotaru Haganezuka muttered, utterly puzzled.

"Could you let me see the blade?" Hotaru Haganezuka, unable to contain his excitement, reached out to take the Nichirin Blade from Haru's hands.

Haru, with no objection, handed the sword over.

At this point, Sakonji Urokodaki also couldn't help but lean in, joining Hotaru Haganezuka in examining Haru's two-colored Nichirin Blade.
